        Would that also include the FP versions on DOF Config Tool (to approve I mean, not test) . I submitted the FP Avatar config, but it hasn’t been approved yet.

          I would always test it on my rig first wouldn’t want to smoke someone’s solenoid but yes can approve new rom names too

            ….and it’s done. Avatar for VPX is now updated with addressable leds effects similar to the FP version I did. Added in beacon effects, ramp effects, particle effects, AMP letters, and additional left and right MX effects for targets…  and more. Removed duplicate MX emulated flashers that were replaced with new animated effects.

            I couldn’t get things like explosions or machine guns, or words like jackpot, extra ball, and other effects… simply because I can’t access the rom coding to add in those things.

            The hardest part is figuring out what triggers I need. I spent more timing figuring out than I did adding in the effects commands.

            New VPX MX commands are now submitted to DOF Config Tool waiting approval.

                I would say the same, but its the opposite for me….   staying up, not being old.   :)

                I submitted the updated addressable led MX commands for the VP version. My previous VP submission had some commands from the FP version that aren’t used in the VP version. These are now removed.

                    Doh…you are too fast.  I had a few more I missed that needed to be removed. They are gone now.

                    The extra commands were all E triggers and don’t effect anything, but I didn’t want them in there if they aren’t used.

                    I submitted the final version now….sorry.  I just wish I could have been able to add the really cool stuff like explosions and machine gun fire…..  :(

                    Glad to see you using the Tool now. Great new features.

                    Check out my ACDC LE   VP MX mod while you are at it!

                    Now you can use the FP MX mods now too. Since DOFLinx now lets you configure the intensity of your shaker (and other feedback devices) in the DOFLinx.ini, you can use Avatar FP with MX effects and without having the shit scared out of you.  :)

                      To give you an idea of the difference….here is all the commands I was “able” to use for the VPX version.  The FP version has almost 3 times as many.

                          There are still “some” standard flashers that are separate from the new effects (not duplicates) and are supposed to be there and may show at the same time. That’s normal.  You shouldn’t however, have flashers for bumpers, slings, AMP, beacon….basically all the stuff on the excel sheet above.  Any “flashers” are only from commands in the PF Back Flashers MX entry for the table.

                          You can always just delete the entire PF Back Flashers MX from your custom config for the table and see if you like not have any of the flashers show up. I originally didn’t have them there for myself, but I kept in the flashers that aren’t being replaced by the new effects I added.  This way, you can easily remove them if you want, but they are still there for other things going on.

                          Note: that most tables in DOF Config Tool now have 5 flasher MX emulation added into the PF Back Flashers MX  entry for each table. So if you have a table that didn’t have 5 flashers before , but they are now appearing  (and you didn’t want them because there are already other effects for those actions also showing)…again you can just delete that PF BACK MX Flashers entry in your custom config.

                              The way I understand it….anything that is in the PF Back Flashers MX for each table is literally emulating an equivalent command found in the “5 Flasher xxxxx” field. This was intended strictly to be used to emulate flashers while keeping them organised and separate from the “effects”.

                              If you see MX flashers appearing in a table that didn’t have them before (even though the table had complete MX effects already done), its probably because they were auto-generated by the Tool and added way back when Arngrim first added the “Save and Create Basic MX Config” feature.  Its not something that is automatically forced on a table…. I think it was just Arngrim trying to add “basic” 5 flasher and strobe emulation for MX to every table back then.

                              Any new tables that had custom effects added  (like I did for ACDC LE) would be left alone for the “Flasher MX” entries, as new tables dont need to have anything added unless there are NO MX commands and effects already existing.

                                Well not sure. i reverted back to my original configs for now. copied avatar manually. I was the one that came up with the circles for 5 bar emulation so i kinda like the option. should work with my settings but seems to be not working. another day

                                  That’s easy…just goto the “Port Assignment” page in the Tool and configure what you want your default “Flasher”  Shape and Size to be for each Flasher. This is what will be used for ALL tables. The default for me is Circle 3, but that’s not what you will want (based on what I saw in your videos). You just gotta figure out what “Circle x”  shape size is the same as you you were using before.

                                  Then when you create a new config, this will be setup as your new flashers variables in the *30.ini.    Its really much easier and better this way compared to before. It took me a while to figure out how it was all working…but that’s how I was able to figure out how to ask Arngrim to add custom character size option in the Tool as well for Letters and Numbers for flashers if you want (that don’t affect your default flashers).

                                    Imagine having “RANDR” for your flashers!   :)  (but for letters you have to edit that yourself either for each table, or for your default flasher variable in the *30.ini, as you cant do that in the tool)

                                        I was wondering why it was running slow.

                                        Make sure you are copying BOTH the direcoutputconfig.ini  AND the *30.ini   as the variables for the MX flashers and shaped are in both those files.

                                        Here’s my variables sections as created by the Tool:

                                        …is the “Flasher MX xxx” that you want the Tool to change in the “Port Assignment” Page for WS2811. You just have to figure out what “Circle” shape number is the same as yours.  This is the “default” variable that is used for all tables   under  @flshemulo@, etc…

                                        This section:

                                        flasherclo = AH100 AL0 AT0 AW14
                                        flashercli = AH100 AL20 AT0 AW14
                                        flashercc = AH100 AL40 AT0 AW14

                                        flashercro = AH100 AL80 AT0 AW14

                                        …is the “Flasher MX Character” on the Port Assignment Page for WS2811.  This is only used for Characters used as flasher, but only for a default “size”. This allows for the variables @flasherclo@, etc to be used for each table combined with letters, numbers,etc….  so that these will NOT affect your DEFAULT flashers.   Hence having “TOTAN” show up only for TOTAN in my table’s custom config if I want to add it.

                                        You got the Tech side of me coming out…. we gotta fix this for you!  :)   I fought off using to the Tool for so long….but it really does work great for me.  Absolutely NO more of the big ugly squares for flashers on any table now!
