May 8, 2017 at 7:37 am #53742Plays really well. would be interesting to see this with the new LFHM physics. if i get some time next weekend ill try to film a game on the actual machine for reference if anyone wants to have a go
I’ve been thinking about the physics updates for this table. The vertical flipper shots are learn-able on this table but don’t behave just like the real ones. I’ll spend some more time with Wrd’s updated tables and try to decide how to move forward with physics. I have a few other projects in the pipeline that might also benefit from a LFHM setup.

Just change hidden value to 1, same as any other table. Currently it is set to hide automatically in FS mode and show in DT mode.

August 23, 2018 at 6:53 am #96172Nice. It’s like those HDR comparisons. The colors are richer. The lighting and reflections are also improved. Amazing job, bord!
Looks like someone took a bite out of that plastic on the left side though. The whole playfield looks greatly improved otherwise.

Yeah, a few broken plastics. They were always cobbled together from junk images and still are. If I can get proper scans someday I’ll fix the meshes. Maybe @jodannar can help us?

August 23, 2018 at 9:35 am #96181BLAST OFF
https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/flight-2000-stern-1980/
This received a full 3D build in Blender. There are just a few elements left from the original release.
New graphics are great, but the real improvement is the physics/gameplay. I was never happy with the way the 1.x releases played. IMO this is much better.
Thanks to @Thalamus for adding 7.1 sound for me.
Still looking for plastic scans. PM me if you have a lead.

August 23, 2018 at 9:57 am #96185Thanks for being mentioned but of course most for the update. I just flew past in very quickly yesterday so now I’m going to play and enjoy it. I know already that it looks much better and I noticed that it is harder to play right away. That is a good sign if you ask me, but, maybe not what you typically want when you try to do some quick runs to see if you’ve messed something up.
Heading to the pin right now. Yesterday I had to turn the VPM sounds almost completely off as wife had already gone to bed
I can’t pinpoint what it is with these older Sterns. I love them and I think you are a big part of why that is Bord !

August 23, 2018 at 1:11 pm #96204Interesting you thought it felt harder @Thalamus when I think the physics changes make it easier, although that may be because my brain expects the table to behave more realistically, and I think it does now. Great work. My uncle used to own this machine. My cousin and I played it when we were little kids and had no idea how anything worked, but my uncle knew what he was doing and showed off multiball to us.

August 23, 2018 at 1:16 pm #96205Dude, this does look so good now in my cab! I also like thenew physics
Edit: I never played the real table, but is it right, that balls locked in are not shot out after game over?
