Recorded videos look milky under VLC 2.2.8

I recognized that my recorded table videos – as well as all other videos – look somehow ‚milky‘ when they are played with VLC Player 2.2.8. I thought about changing some settings in VLC Player to make them look sharper/darker in PinUp Menu but I didn‘t know which ones to change and I think PinUp Menu doesn‘t use these changed settings automatically (I tested it with inverted colours and PinUp Menu still shows normal colours). Did anyone have the same problem or (even better) a solution for it?
