This is a mod, with permission, of jferio’s Solar Ride posted on VPF and VPU. Started mainly to fix the playfield to be proper size and position, and did lots of other scripting, graphical and object changes/updates with much help from hauntfreaks and sliderpoint.
There are a few options at the top of the script for turning on ball and flipper shadows and changing flipper rubber color.
zip includes solaride.nv nvram file that sets the replay values to match the score cards. place in vpinmamenvram folder, as usual press F6 to change some of the rom options
Has the surround sound scripting. and has nfozzy’s fastflips scripting so thanks nfozzy and the vpdev team of toxie and fuzzel
As always anyone is free to do whatever they want with the files I post.

September 17, 2017 at 4:41 pm #64054Yes I do own one. The plastics on this are scans of mine, not the playfield though, that’s to much work to strip and scan.

October 14, 2017 at 7:40 pm #66471Great table. I’m seeing black in the center of the back stainless wall and back of the playfield below that area of the wall. Almost looks like the texture for both is not positioned correctly. Is this something I’ve done? I’ve reinstalled twice.

Can you do a screen shot so I can see what you mean?

October 15, 2017 at 5:53 pm #66561The detail shows the same line in the shadow on the playfield. Sending my settings just in case you’re wondering.

October 15, 2017 at 10:24 pm #66597Looks like a poor material/texture choice on my part. What that represents is the plated metal supports between the layers of the arch. It appears much darker in vp than the real one depending on room light. attached is a pic of the real one in a well lit room. In a dark room with just the game on it appears kind of a dull grayish but still not as dark as the vp version. i should probably use a different material for that object and the one above the arch as well to get a more shiny plated metal look, and it would probably take a image to get it to look somewhat right. Feel free to play around with it if you like, it is Primitive41 in the table.

October 16, 2017 at 12:18 am #66607I’ve seen this on all VPX Gottlieb EM’s from that era…. and in a low lighting situation it would look black or very dark
trying to lighten it I have never got a good result …. and since its not really that distracting , so dark it is…You need to login in order to like this post: click here
October 16, 2017 at 5:32 pm #66657So here’s a total neophyte question. If I uncheck “visible” on Primitive 41’s options, does that affect play? Here are shots with and without it visible. Visibly better, but a bad idea?
