Thanks for this nice beauty, even if the table is too dark for my older eyes.

But the ball gets stock in the left area and I have to exit the game and start new.

Also I have multiballs without end. Always comes new balls. I don’t think, that this is so with the real table. :yahoo:

And a question. How can I reduce the spinning of the ball? I think, it’s too much.

Ball getting stuck in the left (I assume you mean the kicker) – >>>Yea I don’t think you’re playing with the LE rom lol see page 3 for the link (maybe fixes multiball)

There’s a slider in the options (Night->Day Slider) that can crank the brightness up to ungodly levels! Click options on the left of the editor and you’ll see a window pop up on the right side, under appearance options you can change the brightness.

You can increase the friction on the table to reduce ball spin, but if you’re comparing it to other VP tables and not a real table you may be doing it wrong.

Thanks Randr  I didn’t run the set up. Just assumed that copying the files over was all that was needed.

    Hello all,

Just a follow up since I’ve downloaded VPM ver2.39 (yesterday)I haven’t been able to play the PM5 version of this table without getting a “Script Error:Line 1 Type mismatch: ‘orbitpost’ . I get the error everytime the ball is shot up the left ramp that is the orbit shot to the right flipper…..or is it to the left flipper….I forget. The point is it happens when the ball hits that left ramp. I went back to my backup drive that is running ver2.37 and the game plays just fine so I’m thinking the update caused the script errors.

Can I do something to make this playable in ver 2.39 or will I have to have separate drives to play both versions….for the time being anyway.

Both of these versions are really fun and great pieces of work….Hope something can be done at some point.

I’ve also posted this on the proper thread at VPU so the folks working on this are aware.I do believe that there is something in the 2.39 version causing this. Of course I’m no expert but this is what I’ve found.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled game of pinball. 😉

There were a few tables mentioned in the “LE thread” that is linked to a couple times above that weren’t working.  Toxie had jumped in the thread and was going to work on some stuff… I’m sure there will be some more changes as all this stuff is a pretty big and recent development.  We might have to hang tight for a few days.

Thanks and sure…I understand completely……I just figured that any feedback we can give will help them sort out the

    problems a little easier.

Using the correct rom (rgb leds work) and the updated pinmame dll I have had the left kicker issue once. Have been unable to reproduce though.

I get some stutter with all the beautiful laser lights :( so I’ll tweak the script in the tweakable spots :) this is an awesome table. I think I’ve said that 3 times now .. awesome ( 4 )  .. I changed my old vpinmame.dll to vpinmame.dll.old  are there some issues with the new one with some older games ? I don’t think I’ll come across them, I’m fixated on a table without external flashing lights and and bits, just because it’s a bitch of a table that is awesome (5) .. :good:

Although it is slow to drop a ball back on the table  .. do I need a launch button separate to the launch button for the ball launch ( wow ..that got confusing fast ..  ) Do I need a fire button is a better use of the english language .. to get it to actuate quicker rather than time out ? I haven’t even looked at the script .. too busy playing !

    Cheers,

    al.

Do you have magnasave buttons? If you press those it’s mapped to the fire button. Or press both flippers at the same time I think?

Is it allowed to revise the physics of that table? Can remove the sudden ballstops and accelleration on the flippers…

Thanks for the help. I have the rom st_161h.zip and think, that is the right one?

But I downloaded it again from the link. The ball stucks in the kicker on the left. No change. Another idea?

Fascinating… it looks like the kicker solenoid doesn’t fire unless the scoop rotates, so the only time it kicks is when it kicks up to the ramp, it’s my understanding the the kicker kicks no matter what, and the scoop just changes direction. Maybe that’s wrong. Looking into it now

Do whatever you want with the thing, I have no control over what happens after you download it…

I’ll take this opportunity to speak my mind on the matter: the physics of this table are unimpeachable. If you wish to bitch just to bitch then so be it, everyone’s an expert but it seems no one actually knows. It’s too bouncy, it’s too rolly, there’s too much friction, there’s not enough friction, you people drive me fucking mad. Most of you are comparing this to other VP tables and it’s gotten old, go out there and play some pinball, I do! All the time! There’s not a single recreation I’ve played that even comes close. I can at least finish up some of my builds and feel confident in knowing that there’s not a better playing recreation out there. I’m not going to run every table by every snob expert before it’s released and get conflicting feedback on the physics (seriously, because no one has an actual fucking clue about it), so instead I release the table that I feel happy with, a recreation of a real pinball machine I’ve played more than any other, and everyone can just bitch publicly about the physics.

Physics: the new fucking lighting. Save us all.

If I sound like an asshole because of this I don’t care, look at it from our perspective, we build tables for fun but somehow people find a way to have a problem with the stupidest bullshit, not a “thanks for the table” or anything, just straight into bitching about the stupid shit that is actually just personal fucking preferences.

Table updated to 100516a with fix for left kicker, and added an option to the top of the script (PewPew) to disable the lasers for people who experience performance issues when the lasers are on (myself included!) – I did add a simple light over the left flipper, where the laser originates from, that won’t affect performance and still give you notification that the lasers are on….and that you’re missing something cooler

Awesome work Fren. Plays nice. didn’t have any problems with ball getting stuck. Iam unable to get all the lights working in Attract mode. It worked when I first loaded the table but after loading in the backglass for it. I don’t get the attract mode lighting. Is it in the scripts I need to change something to get it working?  VU has a nice LE backglass if anyone looking for it. Thanks Appreciate any help.

There is a bit more to sort out yet with the operation of this one and the B2s backglass. There’s a more detail about this within the support thread above.

I consider this table a minor miracle due to all the folks cracking the code to make this LE table possible. And of course Fren taking the bull by the horns and making this table happen.

oh and thanks for the updated table Fren……I was amazed by the lasers when I first seen them…..so much going on here. Complete sensory overload!
