VP10.1.0 will not load VPX tables

Hello, need some assistance with VP10.1.0.  VPX games will not start.  When trying to start, it displays a BLACK screen. If I alt+tab, there is a vbscript error: “Machine terminated before initialized, check the rom path or rom file!”. The backglass does load.

I am running:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (version 6.1 Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

4GBs RAM

Visual Pinball Version 10.1.0 Final (Revision 2660, 32bit)

Visual PinMame Version 2.8

The ROM’s are testing OK within VpinMAME install program.

VP9 and Physmod tables seem to be running fine.  I am also running PinballX v2.8

I had VP10.1 running successfully.  I somehow managed to get it screwed up.

Sounds to me that the ROM file is not named properly. May be worth running the SETUP in VPinMame to make sure you have all the paths set up correctly (pointing to the ROMS and other files).

Seems most people  forget to copy and overwrite everything including scripts folder. Then double check that no exe’s or dll’s are block and exe’s are set to run as admin. no vbs scripts anywhere else like tables folder. Also no reason not to be running newest beta 10.2 beta so please install that

Thanks for the reply.  I do believe the ROMs are ok.  They are testing fine in VpinMAME installation program: both stern and non stern ROMS.  I have also confirmed the “Setup Paths”

I have installed 10.2 Beta. made sure that .dll’s are unblocked, exe’s are set to run as Admin and made sure .vbs files are only in scripts folder.  However, still have same behavior.  Can’t load and VPX tables.     

Am I running VPinMAME.dll: v2.8.  Is this correct?

I have about 100 vpx tables that all worked. Almost none work now.  However, “America’s Most Haunted” and “Astro (Gottlieb 1971)”  are working.

Makes no sense are you running these through front end? Or trying from vpinballx.exe manually opening in editor?

Same behavior whather, I double click on .vpx,  start VP10.2 Beta and open .vpx table and play table or launch from PinballX front end.

This sounds really weird – do you run forced fullscreen ?

How can I verify if running forced full screen?  I checked the “Video Options”  The “Use always FS back drop settings (Cabinet/Rotated Screen usage)” is Selected.

The two working tables don’t use Visual PinMame.

The option in VP is “Force exclusive fullscreen mode” in the video options.    If that’s checked, uncheck and try again.

You guys rock!!!  The “Force exclusive Fullscreen Mode (less compatible)” was enabled.  I disabled and now  VP10 is working again.
