VPX Portrait Orientation .xml Files for 127 Tables

Since Visual Pinball has been around a while and Windows has progressed so that it is easy to set your monitor to landscape or portrait orientation now, some of you may have considered switching from landscape to portrait orientation when running your tables.  This is nice because you have the taskbar at the bottom of the sceen, etc… but you may not have wanted to change the backdrop POV settings for all your tables… which makes sense… it takes some time to do a bunch of them.

So, while I am not making an attempt to persuade anyone to switch their table orientations, I am going to provide my personal backdrop POV .xml files for 127 tables.  This will make it very easy for anyone who wants to make the switch, but doesn’t want to spend much time on it.  All you need to do is open the table and import the file.  I recently wrote a brief tutorial on importing/exporting backdrop POV settings, in case you aren’t sure how to do this.  It’s really easy.   TUTORIAL

I hope you find these helpful.

Thanks for this, might be just the tipping point to bring me over to the “Dark Side”  with you, sliderpoint, and BorgDog.  You guys put out so many tables makes it easier :good:

Switching to Windows 10 this weekend so might as well really change things up

Cool… I hope they are helpful.  I think most people here will not want to use these, but it was easy for me to post, so if they only help a few people it pays off.

Hey Josh… again, not an attempt to persuade, but just offering some ideas.  I also have MAME on this PC.  I play the horizontal games, and also the vertical games with my monitor rotated to portrait position.  I have a desk mount that rotates from landscape to portrait in seconds.  I also use this same PC for all my web browsing, movie watching, music… everything.  When I want to do something in portrait orientation I just reach out and rotate the screen.

I also have a second monitor mounted over top the first one for backglasses.  It comes in handy for other multi-monitor stuff too.

I’ll post a quick pic of my setup so you can get an idea.

Sorry,  I don’t know why the picture keeps rotating.  Maybe randr can tell me how to fix that… you can get the idea though.

Here’s a couple pics of some MAME games in portrait orientation on that monitor… I made some custom bezel art for these.

Again, sorry the pics are not rotated properly.

Yeah, I didn’t have my whole collection saved.  I may upload more in the future… you can also use the .xml for a similar table and then just quickly tweak it in camera/light.  I mainly wanted to give people who were interested a quick start.

It’s next on my to do list now that I have Windows 10 and DOF happy with each other once again.  A cheap USB hub is the best fix for that BTW

I know I’m tired of standing on the side of my pinball machine when I update :good:

                              Thanks Again
