  • I remade the bell and the TNT toys. The bell was originally provided by @dark: I sculpted it a bit, added some details and created the bell support (the steel thing that attaches to the pf); the TNT toy was completely done from scratch. Here a preview:

And this is a comparison of the “not sculpted” model versus the sculpted one:

The bad Side on Diner, i think, is: Table is at 100%, but we will never get a 100% Version of a Backglass
Never say never, all it takes is one person who refuses to give up! :P

I don’t really think they should wiggle individually so much?  They are supposed to kind of all sway at once I believe.  The old old b2s version had the animations done realistically and tied to nudge.  Perhaps investigate the old b2s back glass to see how it was gone? – dunno.

Randr suggested maybe tying the movement to a captive ball below th…[Read more]

  • Fantastic. As I have said before I am a big fan of ’90s Gottleb/Premier tables. Very fun.
They definitely have their own unique style,  I didn’t really know much about this table prior to working on it but I can tell it’s a lot of fun already.  :good:

  • The table was sent to Kiwi to try to address some issues with the layout.  I found that some table elements are not properly positioned/sized or aligned on the table.  When I went to set up for making a base mesh for the left skii hills I found that I didn’t have enough room between the left cabinet wall and the skii lift device.  An easy so…[Read more]

I think you’re missing my point, I’m not talking about offering constructive criticism,  I think it’s fine to critique people’s work provided you do it in a respectful manner and actually offer possible solutions and input as opposed to just pointing out flaws.

My point was don’t compare authors work, for reasons I’ve already covered…[Read more]

  • Wow. I didn’t know once you upload something to VPF it becomes their property. Yikes.

That is simply not true… And has been said so by the admin. VPF owns the rights to the forum/site formats and such .. the authors own the contents..

He took what I said some what out of context, I said once you upload something to VPF you can…[Read more]

  • I used to talk to him quite a bit,  I liked to get his artistic input on stuff and just shoot the breeze with him.

Yeah my guess is along the same lines as Ben’s, I think he’s like me and just can’t say no to all these cool projects and before you know it you’ve gone and over extended yourself.  It probably started to interfere with his p…[Read more]

  • ” The point of this thread was just to bring a bit of awareness to the situation, I just wanted people to use some consideration when posting comments/compliments. As I said previously, I think it’s really more of an issue over at VPF.” Totally agree Dark. I have yet to have someone here tell me one of my tables was unplayable, worst ever and s…[Read more]

  • Of course with the advances in the software, there will be those who feel the latest, greatest VPX version of a table is better than the older VP9 or PM5 version of a table. There have been many times that I have downloaded a new version of a table and simply deleted it as the older one plays better, sounds cleaner, etc. etc. I respect all…[Read more]

  • @Dark I think the essence of what you are saying is correct. A direct comparison of tables from a single viewpoint that is often flawed or biased by experience and has little constructive value. I personally love that tables play differently, and look differently, it’s what makes each author / teams work unique, and there are a good dozen or more…[Read more]

  • I agree… but I don’t think people mean any harm… most of the time I think they are just trying to pay a compliment and don’t realize they may be offending someone.
Yes I mention that I realise it’s done out of ignorance and of no real ill intent.

Thanks Dark for this post! I wondered my self the last weeks about this. I mean, i couldn´t have bui…[Read more]

I rarely see a comment that is, “Oh my god! Y is so much better than X! Why does X even try!” Absolutely nothing wrong in comparing authors in the spirit of constructive criticism or point…[Read more]

  • Okay I’ve been seeing a lot of comments in the last while, more so on VPF than here really that compare authors work.  Making comments like this;

“10/10, really not many tables can even compare to this masterpiece.”

Or making comments that are along the lines of saying other authors need to step it up to match the new standard of quality or…[Read more]

@blacksad the animations are super that’s why I’d like to see authentic and fantasy coupled in one.  Perhaps now you have dipped your toes in the db2s waters, this will just be the beginning? :P

  • Dark replied to the topic Diner VPX in the forum Downloads Support Topics 1 week, 3 days ago

I haven’t had a chance to check out the new db2s, does it have authentic mode as well or just fantasy?  You can have multiple modes in one backglass, I’d very much appreciate being able to switch between the two to demonstrate ‘authenticity’ to friends.

  • Table looks great, I especially like that this is a table I’d hardly heard of until now – thanks!
