  • This is a VPX conversion/rework of my VP9 table. Updated with rubbers, rolling sounds, etc.

The credit key can be temperamental but that is an issue with the ROM and can't currently be fixed.

DOF users may experience constant clicking when save gate is opened and is not currently recommended for use on this table.

    1.4

-Changed coding for the movable gate in the left center lane which was broken with the updated ROM. This is recommended as the sounds are more accurate and the temperamental insert coin issue is fixed. Make sure to have the file 20252-01.bin in your ROM file and the latest version of PinMAME.

-Added missing plate on wall where ball is released.

    1.3

-Fixed issue preventing ball from entering top right saucer section (2000 pts).

-Added option for alternate colors on "Players" lights.  Added option for numbers on those lights.  You may need to restart Visual Pinball for the change to properly take effect.

-Shifted art on top of bumpers.

    1.2

-New primitive wire guides, gates and cabinet box as well a new plunger courtesy of 32assassin.

-Reduced blooming effect on lights and other lighting adjustments.

-Adjusted rubber hit height and friction.

    -Added sound for save gate.

-Removed switch from upper left lane (which was correctly placed in 1.1).

-Top decal in cabinet mode removable in script (line 20).

    1.1

    -Fixed incorrect and missing switches.

    -Cleaned up plastics.

    -Reduced friction on rubbers.

    -Targets shake when hit.

    -Various touch-ups to the playfield.

Does anyone have a pov without the stripe decal?

POV won’t remove the stripe. I had to move the panel to the left of the backglass view. Simply unchecking it’s visible state didn’t work so I’m guessing the script turns it back on. Once you move it you can alter your POV to increase your X size and position.

I did that, I was just wondering if anyone else did and had a pov that they were willing to share.  I’m not crazy about mine atm

Ahhh and that makes more sense coming from you of all people. Hopefully my response didn’t rub you the wrong way. When I get home from work I’ll post my POV. I’m guessing it’s similar to what you came up with but worth taking a look. I’ve revamped my POV tastes 3 times already this year. EMs are set different than most SS. And then toy-heavy tables like ACDC  gets another POV.

It’s a widebody table so I don’t think there is a great solution in cabinet mode. I wasn’t really sure what viewpoint people like on these tables so I just added  a decal based on the cabinet art.  Maybe change the image to something else. If you don’t want it just delete it from the backdrop view and delete line 161 in the script.

this is a wide body table,   why would you wan to stretch and distort your POV view to make it into a regular body table.

see a table you like help me find the resources so that I can finish it

Great work on the table , many thanks. Always good to see another rare pin on VPX.

Personal opinion only, I would like to turn down the brightness of the pop bumper lights. Are you able to point me in the right direction, as to how to do this. I just cant seem to locate them within editor.

I can give you the exact light numbers tonight if you can’t find them but if you right click on the bumper, just go through the various lights and find the one that centers on the bumper.

I have about 1000 tables running fine except this one, not sure what I am doing wrong.  Tried using roms from different sites, deleting the registry, nvram, cfg but no luck.  Could never get the VP9 version running either.  Anyway looks fantastic, thanks!  :)

      Hello,

copy destruk rom from vpforums in vp9 tables and write it in your rom vpx…then all works, for me it is the solution

      Greetings

If you’ve updated PinMAME recently you also need to put the file 20252-01.bin into the ROM. This is a recent change.

Thanks Adolfo and DarthMarino.  Working fine now that I included that file into the rom, never would have thought of that.   Been playing this table for the past hour, very well done!  Thanks DarthMarino!  :)

Thank you so much for your work! It’s nice to see Atari tables getting some love. As my cab is an original 1978 Space Riders, I dream of one day having this table in VPX. I am also building my cousin’s VPIN which is an Airborne Avenger and he will be happy with your version :rose:
