  • Big Betty’s Truck Stop is a pinball machine from 1988 and manufactured by Bally Manufacturing Co.

This was the first game following the merger of Williams and Bally/Midway.

Lots of ramps, slingshots, lights, and a cool trucker theme make this table really fun to play!

I would like to send a very special thanks to the following:

    - sindbad : For being able to use his VP9 table resources as a great starting point.

    - flupper, nFozzy, and others : Flipper physics, flasher lighting, etc.

    - BrandonLaw : Playfield and plastics cleanup and enhancement of Sindbad’s resources

    - bigus1 : Beta testing and lighting tweeks

    - VPX development team: As always, thanks for your work in keeping VP alive and well

    - To anyone I may have forgotten, please let me know and I'll add you.

Note: There’s some confusion that this table was or wasn’t released a few years ago for VPX.

I cannot find anywhere that it was officially put out so I made my own for VPX.

This table has been created using 10.6 so that version or greater should be used to play.

Please see script for various table options.

Version 1.1.0 - Minor update to clean up a few small asthetic issues and add Brandon's improved PF and images.

Added changes from Arngrim and Thalamus to improve directional sounds and updates to other sounds.

Version 1.0 - New VPX version built from the V9 version.

Script and lighting was (mostly) rebuilt.

New VPX routines (flipper physics, shadowing, flasher lighting, ball jumping, etc.).

Various table options to customize to your liking.

lol no worries randr.  i usually reference restoration pics and youtube videos to make sure i got the table pretty accurate.

of course, there’s that dumb little color blindness thing i have to deal with but that only affects me not seeing missing materials (as we all know by now!)

Thanks so much for this one agentEighty6. Was hoping someone would do a nice VPX of Truck Stop and you really delivered! I played this pin relentlessly in 1988 and this really takes me back.

@zigbane : Very nice. And you seem to have used the element selector to help you finding those elements without materials ?! I found one tiny material related mistake and it was only because I hate gates being visible in the plunger area. The wall “Apron”, I don’t think you need to have the side of it visible, so if you turn that option off, you will not see the slight purple shining through by the plunger.

Kind of late here now, so I only played a couple of games on it with volume very low since wife went to bed. Impressed and looking forward to play this again tomorrow.

The only thing i changed is the ball rolling sounds. I prefer louder. Love the physics on this one, i will play this a lot that’s sure. Thank you again.

@zigbane Thanks, i had a prev. VPX Truck Stop, full working, can’t remember exactly from where,
i think it was in any Beta Talk on VPF … also from Sindbad, or 32assassin ? Whatever …

I have that older one also and notice that it is made by 32assassin. I hope, that is correct.

And there is also a nude-mod of this table. :-)
