  • One of my favorite EM's - Big Shot by Gottlieb.  This is a near complete rebuild with all new playfield, plastics, backglass and many new sounds.  The rule set has been redone to match real game play as close as possible.

This table can be played in desktop, fullscreen, FSS or VR.  B2S is included in the download.  Options in the script for 3 or 5 ball, turn on/off high score tracking, high score reset and enable/disable dof chimes.  There is also an option to collect bonus in ball by scoring special.  This is off by default as a special scores a replay by the actual rules.

    • Special thanks for Fleep for all the quality sounds and scripting lifted from Theatre of Magic
    • Special thanks to Rawd for the bar VR room used in the VR version
    • Special thanks to loserman and wed21 for their versions of Hot Shot that were used as the base for this table.

1.2a - Rawd added in plunger animation for the plunger button and made a slight adjustment to the backglass to reduce shimmering.

1.2 - Added a VR version with a bar VR room by Rawd (from Eight Ball).   VR room and playfield glass can be toggled in the script and right magna save turns off the VR room in game if it's enabled in the script.

The original file can also be used for VR and has a backbox and fully working backglass.  However, it doesn't have the lower cabinet or the VR room environment.

1.1a - Fixed a bug with the new drop targets that allowed side hits to drop the target.

1.1 - Added new drop target physics

Dang, this is like EM ‘2.0’! So nice! Dad likes it because its ‘slow and simple’ haha.  I’m too impatient I had to increase the incline of the table because its soooo slow haha.

Love the physics. Even the way the ball enters shooter lane lets you know you’re in for some excellent tuning.

Backbox looks stunning in VR. Thanks so much for providing it.

The release version is the first time I’ve gotten to play with the final physics setup. Gameplay is magnificently tuned to feel like an actual EM, esp. the low slope. The clipped flipper rotation threw me for a loop at first but I have to admit ball control feels a lot more era specific. I’m thoroughly impressed.

      Love this table.

I feel kind of dumb asking this … but I can’t seem to get DOF to work with this release, even using the option in the script.

      Am I missing something simple?

BTW: Made a new wheel image for this table as well. Just uploaded it here.

Pull a new config file from the DOFConfig site.  There wasn’t a config available until earlier this week.

Great job!! You guys got the ball to feel exactly like the pin I used to own. I could never get that right on my version but you guys nailed it. This pin was proding and was like watching a train wreck, you knew the ball was going down the hole but nothing you could do to stop it. Excellent work!!

That table looks amazing. And with this team of artists it must be good.

I love the old EM-tables and Loserman76’s version. Now I can’t wait to play this table and see it in VR.

Thanks guys for building all the tables and send me back to my childhood.

“I’ve never dealt with a real machine”   Really?   No ‘in-real-life’ pinball play?  If so I find that very interesting.

I’m playing Big Shot on my vp cab next to a ‘real’ ’69 Gottlieb.  Tables from same designer.  BS is a tad floaty by comparison but not by much.  One of the beauties of EM’s is how the ball sometimes takes it’s time, let’s your eyes follow it ..and still fools you.

This is an unbelievably realistic recreation. It looks, plays and sounds so much like a real EM, it’s downright scary. I didn’t believe it is possible to emulate it to this level. Honestly, if someone never played a table of this era, they don’t need to look any further than this. Hands down the best EM recreation so far, bar none.

Thanks so much to all involved people for this beauty. I love it.

(yes, I’m old and used to play quite a lot of similar machines back in the day)

Wow! Take a couple of days off from pinball forums and boom, yet another big release, can’t wait to try it later today. Yes, some might say “an EM is a big release?” and I say “yes”, the quality determines for me if a release is a “big” release, especially when people suggests this is EM 2.0!

Thanks for the FSS/VR support as well and thanks to who contributed!

Played this table for at least an hour last night – so realistic and fun!

BTW: Got DOF working with the update, so thank you.

Oh man, not to reveal TOO much about my age, but my friend’s mom owned a bar back in the 70’s.  When we were kids, we would run rampant in there in the pre-opening hours…….and we always had the keys for the pinball machines!  Ah, the memories!  Thanks for this!
