  • I'm very excited to present the Fire! 2.0.

This is a significant update to the VPX mod of UncleWilly and Randr's awesome Fire! table!   VPX 10.4 or better required, 10.5 beta recommended.

    Thanks to:

Wrd1972 and Bord: Both of them have relentlessly worked to make 2.0 an amazing update!   My hat is off to them.    They went way above and beyond on this project and can't thank them enough.

UncleWilly and Randr for their amazing VP9 original, and Randr for guidance on that left lock behavior.

32Assassin for his VPX rebuild of the script and table. HauntFreaks for color-correcting sling areas so they light up properly. RustyCardores for PMD™ input. VPX team for the wonderful engine. NFozzy/Ninuzzu for fast flipper and ball shadow routines Flupper for primitive flippers

    - v2.0 - New 4k playfield All-New physics by Wrd1972 Major primitive, plastics, ramps, and shadow overhauls by Bord New smoothly animating fire cylinder animation during multi-ball and game end. Numerous other details fixed and refined.

    - v1.0 - Initial release

A bit tricky but not impossible, sometimes I do 2 middle ramps in a row, use the inertia of the ball, don’t stop it first on the flipper.

Gameplay…may-be I’m the only one here but here shooting up the ladder-ramp is almost impossible.

To get the ball on to the ramp it must be shot really from the start of the flipper but then it has not enough power and a little later the power is ok but the shot can not be made.

Sounds like playing a real Fire! to me. Not an easy shot to make. Keep practicing.

      Thanks for the update everyone.

The ladder shot is supposed to be hard to make.

Excellent, that means the physics are bang on!  That’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.

If you want to make it easier just increase the flipper strengths.   But I’ve never, ever played a real Fire! table where that shot is easy.   :)

I have played a few of these, the ladder shot is always serious pain.

First off, wonderful table. Really fun and challenging. Great combination. One small thing I noticed. The screw on the bracket by the plunger  looks like it needs screwed down, lol (see attached). But the element appears to be one solid piece (labeled plungerlanebracket). I was wondering if you knew how to fix this? If not, no big deal. Thanks for your amazing work.

Go look at some photos of a Fire!. That was modeled by me to be accurate. This is pretty common in Williams games from this era.

Dang it. I apologize. I had found a few pictures and from the perspectives they were at, it looked flat. Thanks man. I at least appreciate you responding. Been playing this one non-stop.

This is great, thanks for this, I’ve never even heard of it and it’s jumped right up my list, nice and difficult without being unfair :)
