    updated Gottlieb Ball Gate brackets and flap. Includes somewhat lower poly version ones for those that want that sort of thing.

    Made off measurements from real ones, as close as I could make it.

    SEE INSTALLATION NOTES, PLEASE.

    Brackets and Flap size at 100,100,100.  All are setup so X and Y are the same for the bracket and the flap. ObjRotZ for gates and flap set the same as the vp gate object rotation.

    Double gate bracket set at Z of 0, flap at a Z of 73.

    Single/older gate bracket set to Z of top of table arch it rests on, flap at a Z of 18 units higher than the bracket.

    Gate will only open about 45 degrees before hitting the bracket so you will want to have your animation script like:

    PrimGate.rotx=-Gate.currentangle*.5

    as the vp gates will open to 90.  The real gates also don't flop around much at all so using the gate physics I set damping at 0.85 and gravity at 2 for a reasonable approximation.

    NOTE the - change added to the scripting due to new objects.

    • combined both gate primitives into this package
    • rotated and set origin of primitives so that both gate and flap have same X and Y
    • also set so the primitve ObjRotZ can be set the same as the vp gate rotation value
    • included lower poly versions, still look fine to me

      I should clarify on the flap, use objrotz to rotate to right orientation and rotx to animate so everything works right.

      not really.  I don’t know of them in em or system 1 (but I don’t know them all), but definitely throughout the system 80, 80a and 80b stuff.  system 3 may have them, but they mostly did other stuff.

      updated to include both gottlieb gate brackets, and lower poly versions of all

      brackets and flap are now setup to have the same X and Y coordinates and to be set with their ObjRotZ the same as the vp gate rotation value.. should make placement and setup easier.  see install notes for details.  to get the ObjRotZ to match I made a left and right version of the double ball gate.

      I have a couple of questions that I hoped maybe you could answer. I am working on an update of Rascal’s VPX Hot Shots . I am doing a redraw of the playfield since there are no good resources and trying to add a lot of the primitives that you have created. Is there a primitive for the bracket in the ramp? The one on Rascal’s table has two posts attached to the playfield, but the one in the pic only has one.

      not entirely sure which bracket you are talking about, but those are not something I would have, hopefully someone else will chime in.
