  • Locomotion by Zaccaria for VPX with some slight tweaks.  Although both cabinet and desktop mode supported and function, emphasis was on cabinet mode.  Hopefully you will enjoy it and uncover things to fix.

    Used dboyrecords VPT version as a guide, for some resources and parts of the script and that table's authors included Luvthatapex and Destruk.  Main rail, rings and some other primitives are from 32assassin's Magic Castle.  Light Sequencer script, playfield GI lights,  and some lighting from JPSalas' Slimer.  Desktop background from wildman's backglass.  Playfield and all plastics constructed from photographs found on the internet along with some sounds.  Any oversights or faults are unintentional.  If corrections or refinements are needed, please share your insights.

    Included with the vpx file is  the backglass used (from wildman) and the POV file.  The table was tested using VPX 10.2.0 (Rev 2884, 32bit), vpinmame_sam_latest (with VPinMAME.dll -12/27/2016) and it requires a rom (locomotn).

    In the script are options for using the original ROM sound or new sounds, or adding new sounds with the ROM sounds and turning on a drain peg.  The current setting is to use the ROM sound with the new game train whistle and for no drain peg.  The drain peg may also be toggled on/off using the right magnasave.

      A couple of things I noticed:

      At the end of the Game Time Bonus, the flippers are not disabled (although the scoring stops like it should). In fact, on the original machine all activities (like slingshots, pop bumpers and the flippers of course) were dead after the time expired (maybe even the lights turned off, I’m not sure), but I suppose that’s more difficult to implement. I looked quickly into the script and noticed there are provisions to stop the flippers, but didn’t spend enough time to find how to fix this.

      Also, it seemed to me that the drop targets are too hard to knock down. Sometimes it seemed not even a direct hit dropped some of them.

      Good work on the table. It’d be great to have updated graphics since the available resources are rather scarce and the graphics are a bit blurry due to this.

      Here are my FS Settings (POV File) … i really wanted to see the Flippers Side too, its all a bit more “3D”.
      And if you want to hear the train sound at the begining with the original ROM sound ( i love both ),

      htamas – Reduced the target settings (like Diner) and moved them; hopefully this helps (I was unable to recreate the problem).  Activated solenoid control of the GI lights during bonus countdown and disabled flippers (ball passes thru them) when countdown finishes; nice catch; thanks.

      STAT – Added more script options for using new sounds with ROM sound and moved apron down so the field of view can be higher without hiding shoot again light.  Noticed the GI lighting also made it seem like the Shoot Again light was on so adjusted. Thanks.
