    Pink Panther (Gottlieb 1981)

    This was the third table I ever built. It sat mostly finished on mothballs for more than a year until Hauntfreaks offered to do his thing on materials and lighting. That lit the fire to get it done.

    So here it is (finally), a System 80 widebody featuring the Pink Panther and some nefarious blonde jewel thief. Completing each bank of drop targets lights a ball lock. Two locked balls begins multiball, which starts an alternate scoring mode where you collect jewels. These jewels are scored separately on the backglass.

    Hauntfreaks also created a brand new B2S for the table, included in the .zip file.

      my calculation was wrong. It is 2 lights plus 2 x 3 shadows = 8 (still better than 16 objects)

      case 2 Lights 4 DTs: 2 lights plus 2 x 4 shadows = 10 (vs. 32 objects)

      This is a great looking table but brutal.  The flippers seem a bit underpowered but a lot of Gottlieb machines suffered that problem.  Trying to get to the top arch again to drop more letters is a real challenge.  And any miscalculation on the flippers more likely than not sends a floating duck to the center of the table and straight down the gap.

      People tend to forget what pinball before Firepower and Black Knigh looked like.  Firepower was the first table I remember playing where I routinely lost sight of the ball.

      I like the slow vibe of the late 70’s and early 80’s tables even if I’m cursing the flippers for not having enough power……(She’s giving it all she’s got Capt….).

      is anyone facing issue in 1.1 where the ball gets stuck toward upper left side? And then VPX crashes.

      Am using the latest VPX beta andVPinMame beta as well.

      I was just playing it with 10.6 beta last weekend and didn’t have any problems. I’ll try again this weekend.

      I still haven’t tried this table with the latest beta so no. But, its a great table so I will put it on my play-list for the weekend and see if anything odd is happening for me.

      Could probably use a slight physics touch-up and new Gottlieb flippers. Might dig into it one of these days, although not really a favorite of my projects.

      Just tried it out with the latest betas, seemed to be fine.  first time I started it GI did not turn on though, exited back to editor then back in and all was back to normal.
