As Gottlieb made some machines in both EM and SS system1, so has BorGlieb now produced Star Wars based on the Marvel comics in an SS version.

Same basic table layout with a few added features:

    • 2 player support added
    • spinner, because spinners are cool, option for light saber sound effect in script
    • drop target bank expanded to 5 targets
    • kessel run loop shot through the spinner and death star returning to right flipper... usually :)
    • 4th mission added, complete Kessel run 3 times with 3rd in 12 par-secs or faster
    • Bonus system added, drop targets and lit blue standups add to bonus
    • completing drop target bank adds bonusX
    • completing drop target bank in order (hit flashing) immediately actives tractor beam for ball lock
    • 2 ball or 3 ball multiball possible, complete 3 missions to light 1 lock, complete 4th mission before starting multiball to light 2nd lock
    • rotary target for portal replaced with AFM style bash target bank, 3 targets now instead of 2

a few options available by holding left flipper while in Game Over mode, more options near top of script.  Chimes are available and a bell if you have those in your DOF setup, or just prefer the chime noise.  spinner light saber sound effect only available when tones are selected.

In addition to the thanks on the original version for Hauntfreaks and sliderpoint, big thanks for testing and game play ideas from @bord and @rothbauerw on the SS version.  Extra thanks to @bord for more of his awesome light/shadows.

Table comes setup for my cab which has playfield in portrait orientation.  POV files are also included for both portrait and landscape mode.  updated directB2S file for SS version also included.

There are likely bugs and things still to work out, but that's the way it is :)

    Enjoy

Love the increased difficulty after the first multiball. Way to make a great game even greater, @borgdog! Hope you decide to build one of these IRL.

Well said. What a pleasant surprise just firing it up with the default settings and ripping that spinner. Only topped by Alien Star @ 5x !

I’ll probably will move some sounds around though. My fingers started shaking as the ball flew around the table. Default, table sound for SSF  is placed – at least for me around the flipper area. You want some, but not all sound to come from the table, just small changes needed though. Except for that, what a table this is. Going to read the rules and play this a lot tomorrow I’m sure. Super first impression !

I can tell already. I’m keeping both the old and this 2019 version. They both deserve it, just like the old and the new NOBS.

Thank you so much BorGlieb ! :good:

This is great! Really enjoyed the previous version, but I LOVE the redux! I agree with Thalamus. I’m pretty sure both versions will be staying in my cab.

And to that end, I will need a variation on the wheel logo I am using to differentiate them. Any chance there will be an updated wheel image for this Redux version?  :good:

One of the best original EM tables ever made, converted to SS!!

I was wrong when I said I would move a few sounds around. This table has excellent SSF already. The only thing I moved was those Saber samples.. A simple select and push the the backglass and that was it. I have a feeling that most SSF users should do that and the rest of you guys get it for free ;) Have just finished about an hour on it learned where those most dangerous shots are. Hope we some day get to play this in GOTW.

Not the first time I thank only the author for a release. I’m sorry for that Bord, Roth, Sliderpoint and Hautfreaks.

Both looks and plays great !

What a really nice table release … i´m just trying to kick the @borgdog highscore.

Btw. those included “fx_ballrolling” sounds are different. The first one is a loud one; the others are more quiet. So sometimes you hear a ball and sometimes not.

So i took the first one (for me the best piece of ballrolling sound included); deleted the others and imported the first one again and renamed it to “fx_ballrolling0, fax_ballrolling1, and so on until 4”.

Back on cab … :rose:   :mail:

And, while hihscore hunting, noticed that the “extra ball apron” at the bottom right disappears after a while playing. Maybe after the first extra ball at 220.000 ? not sure; but it disappears.

Life has thrown a few curveballs that is affecting my availability but looks like I’m going to have to make time to play this one.  Thanks for your work on this BorgDog!

I have not seen that and can’t think of any reason for it to happen.

It happened again that the “replaycard” image disappeared. Can´t reproduce it; this time it happened soon after i´ve locked the ball into the “droid lock”.

Maybe there is something in the script that “misscounts something” … and the new coming “ball”, to get a multiball later, is pulling a wrong value to the table script. Or the table thinks, if getting a new ball, something wrong and this replaycard – while starting the new ball – didn´t exist at the “new” ball or table start . there are more than one replaycards the table can choose from…

Trying and reporting … thanks @borgdog :mail:

totally weird.  there are actually 6 possible images for that, 3 different replay levels and then whether max 1 extra ball per ball in play is enabled.  only two places in the script it sets that, on loading in the init, and in the option menu, unless somehow the option menu is getting enabled during play somehow, but even then it should put 1 of the 6 images there.  I’m going to say vp graphics bug

Maybe; i can´t reproduce this error on my desktop in landscape (exactly same versions of table / VPX). It only occurs at my VPIN Cabinet.

Lets see if i can catch something what does this curious thing.   :mail:

      Solved …

Since i´ve used your “built in menu” for the first time (never used it before) and made some changes i went back to default settings and saved. the disappearing “replay card” problem never occured anymore – curious –

is it possible there were some settings left from another table version ?

greedings and thanks for your support @borgdog

      Highscore is now 580.000
