Wrd says to me, would you like to do another Date East table, I just brought home a tmnt.  Before I thought about it I said YES.

This was one I wanted to work on since I started building tables.  I had attempted to gather resources and even started a really sad playfield redraw.... but anyone that’s looked knows there are pretty much no good resources for tmnt.  So, Wrd stripped his table took around 500 pics for me over the course of the build.  I stitched together a playfield best I could and started a redraw.  (if anyone asks you to redraw a DE playfield, don't do it )  Table is a complete scratch build.  I did peak back at edizzle’s pm5 version to double check things here and there though.

Once the table was built Wrd fine-tuned the position of everything.  It really does play great.

    --------------------

As always check the top of the script for a bunch of options.  I left the playfield Oooze on by default because it’s worth it.  :P

    --------------------

    Credits/Thanks:

Me: table build, playfield redraw, ramp decal redraws, ramps, lots of little primitives here and there.

Wrd1972: COUNTLESS resource pics and answering of far too many silly questions.  Physics and table fine tuning.  Plastic scans.

Roth:  Being a code wizard and for putting up with Wrd and me. (understatement of the century :P)

Dark: Turtle Models!!!! and other small primitives here and there. (I did resize the turtle images to make the file size sorta reasonable)

Flupper: Flasher Domes and Ramp Tutorial.

Hauntfreaks: He made a pass and did the awesome things he does.

    themotherbrain: testing and feedback

nFozzy: I'm using his new fading lights + a few tweaks by me.

DJRobX: SSF code and thanks to RustyCardores for showing me the way, you can't go back!!  Ball drop tweaks by Roth and me.

Last but not least the developers and other table authors.  This community is nothing without everyone doing their part!!!!!!

    Enjoy!!

      Nice work!  Looks great!

Although I think I suck… I can not save April.  The ball refuses to hit the target off the orbit for me (about 0-30 so far…).  Can someone else just verify it’s makable?

Thanks a bunch guys, an amazing recreation of the real one.

      Few issues:

-I once got a stuck ball in the left outlane

-If turtle weapons mod is enabled, the upper right hand turtle doesn’t have his swords.

-If I change sound volume (via F12), flippers won’t work after that. Havn’t found any volume settings in the rom menu. (pressing 7 and expand adj)

-Performance drops in multiball. All the tables I have run flawlessly 165hz on my system, even the new G5K AFM. This table is 165hz too, but as soon as I get a multiball, the performance drops to 120-130hz.

      :bye:

Thank you very much for this wonderful release and all the work that was made by the whole team behind it.  :good:

Sadly I have a little issue with the DMD (Desktop mode). I use the newest VPX beta and the newest Vpinmame. Does anyone have an idea?

      Unbenannt

      Best regards

You can try right clicking on the DMD and press restore DMD size.

Or right click on the DMD and uncheck Show Border,  Show Title.

Or you can go to Line 260 in the table script and uncomment it.(Remove the ‘ at beginning of Line 260)(So the letters are not green, as seen in pic.)

I had to do this and set it to 0 to replicate your DMD, so with it set to 1, it should fix your DMD.

      Hope this helps.

      Great table you guys!!!

      Thanks!!

wow nice! Just to report I can’t play it – it’s the first time a table crashes my VPX (10.5).

It loads up / table & b2s show up the rom plays and starts to talk “Teeanage” and then after 2s it crashes VPX.

My setup is clean – all recently freshly installed and all tables from various sites (Monsterbash, here and VPForums) are working flawlessly.

I welcome any idea to test this beauty    :mail:

I made the mistake of showing screenshots of this to my four year old son 3 weeks ago.  He has asked everyday about the table.  I told him today after Karate the turtle table would be ready for him.  Needless to say had a hard time getting him to daycare today.  CP thank you for all of the hard work in making this table to totally tubular.  I will be the hero dad when matthew gets home, but all of you that put in the hard work deserve all of the credit.  Thanks again!

      Hey Mike,

That particular shot was very difficult to get right. In order for the ball to strike the target, it needs to ride the back wall perfectly, to propoerly strike the target. The last time I tweaked, I had to adjust the large rear rubber to ensure that the ball was not deflected, prior to hitting the wall. So the last time I tested it, it seemed to be working fine. I will check it again, but it might be a day or two. But in the short term, you can add a knocker sound for when the target is struck, just to ensure it is actually being hit or missed.

IIRC, there is not a dramatic or really noticeable “effect”, even when that target is hit. But adding a knocker sound can help be certain, whether it is being hit or not.

Glad everyone is enjoying the table!!  It was fun to work on, and compared to some of my other builds went really quick and smooth even with the playfield redraw.  I know with the redraw there was one or two areas that did not quite line up in the end, but I doubt anyone would ever find them.

HF just sent me an updated table that he worked his magic on, dropped the files size in half O_O.  My guess is that will fix most people’s performance issues.

xenonph to the rescue again.  I had that same issue with the dmd and it drove me nuts for a while.  Uncomment that sections, then once its fixed you can comment it back out if you want.

As for the Save April, yeah like Wrd said he spent quite a bit of time trying to get that right.  Also the call out when you make the shot is pretty lame, so it’s easy to miss.  You would expect some sort of thank you or something    I tweaked the wall in the spinner lane a hair, but will let Wrd have the final say when he gets to it.  I do know that I suck at making the shot when I need to, but have hit the target before.

Not sure on the ball stuck in the left out lane, I’ve not seen that before.  Anyone else?  Screenshot?

Thanks Draifet, missing screw is fixed and lowered them both so the fit onto the post better.  You look for those kinda things for weeks and a few still slip by.  Also fixed the light cutting through the left flasher.  Left the blooms big because :P

I’m going to double check a few more thing then post the update.

Great table! Got a small problem though. Running the table as desktop and the

dmd looks strange. Dragged out vertical somehow.

Wauw! Looking freaking awesome!! Thanks for this super duper release :).

Running 10.5 final and latest beta sam but getting an error using solenoids=2 (fastflips). Do I need to do something additionally?

In my best announcer voice from Scared Stiff… “Look Up”  xenonph posted this fix with a nice screenshot.

Version 1.1 is up.  File size in half, so hopefully fixed performance issues some are having.  I did tweak the spinner lane wall a bit and nailed the target a couple times, 4 out of 5ish I think.  A couple other small things.
