    Bally's 1980 gem Viking for VPX 10.6 minimum. Hard to find this table these days. I hope you enjoy playing it.

    Includes directB2s file.

    Uses 'vikingb' 7 digit ROM.

    If you're playing in desktop view change .hidden=1 to .hidden=0 in the script.

      I didn’t have the wealth of resources that I had for Frontier but I think the graphics are ok for a photostitch.

      Looks good… I just had a chance to play around with it… I think it’s an underrated table… it has that classic Bally early 80’s feel and layout.  I like the center shot through the spinner up to the kicker… and that crazy “spit it out” kicker.  I think the slingshot placement makes for some tricky shots too.  They seem to be more up and over the flippers than most.

      Is the chick right over “ball in play” on the BG supposed to be the Brooke Shields drawing?

      Sw32 kick the Ball out very fast i think, here it Looks a bit slower:

      Hey STAT, it is a little faster. I’ve been letting the solenoids determine the timing. If you hit sw32 when lit you’ll see a totally different timing for the kick upward.

      How would I slow that down in the script?

      Never heard of it. I like the playfield layout, it is refreshingly different.

      This is a great table so thanks for that. One small bug I found was when I hit f6 and checked show credits nothing happened. I remember when I was in college an arcade across campus had a Viking table where it was almost impossible to drain down the outlanes due to the rubbers in the outlane kicking the ball back in play and this made replays easily. The owner of the arcade eventually realized this and had the operator make the table steeper so the rubbers basically had no effect except for once in a great while if you nudged the table just right.

      Thanks for this really nice table. Never came across this one in real life and like the way it plays. Thanks to VPX and all the great table authors this is possible :).

      2 small bugs:

      1. When I hit f6 and then check show credits they still don’t show up.I then switched your dips for Inkochnito in the script and all is well again.
      2.  When I earn a free game the knocker does not sound.

      To fix the Credits Not displaying issue with the F6 menu

      At the bottom of the script – Line 536

      .AddChk 205,175,190,Array(“Credits displayed”,0)’dip 27

      Change to

      .AddChk 205,175,190,Array(“Credits displayed”,&H04000000)’dip 27

      Been putting some energy into doing a proper update of Viking. Still no great resources available but I’m making it as pretty as I can considering. The real update will be to the gameplay physics, especially the saucers. The huge Mata Hari style bevel and hole at the top of the playfield should toss the ball all over the place. New update will have a much better behavior for this thanks to VPX 10.6.

      Today I am modelling the two-way kicker.
