I think that would work, but I’m not an expert. I put in a power filter input board for OPP in mine because I had one, but I think that’s basically what it does.

Gottlieb system 1 machines run at 24vdc for the coils, not 28vdc.
The other thing that can be in play is the rate at which they fire can be too much for the switching power supplies to keep up with, having a big capacitor in the mix helps with that. I didn’t read through everything to see if you already have something like that.

There should definitely be a nylon tip on the plungers in the Gottlieb units. if your’s have broken off then the plungers would be too short to strike effectively, or if the right length plunger but all metal it would not pull up as high and again not strike effectively. the magnet essentially wants to center the metal part of the plunger
the A-17876 would be right coil for DC driven SS chime units using 24V, the A-5195 are stronger and tend to get more of a clunk then a nice chime when driven with 24vdc.

Visuals and physics are nearly done but I’m stuck on a scripting problem.
@borgdog, @rascal, @32assassin, @herweh, @cyberpez – or anyone else that has scripted a System 80 game – can you help me script the GI on/off states? System80 isn’t tied to a regular GI solenoid or lamp ID. I have the manual and can see the GI string but have no idea how to call it in the script. As far as I know the only thing that controls the GI is the Tilt relay, which runs off L1. My alien star has a script labeled from nfozzy that I think I took from your pink panther table. here is the highlighted section of the manual that seems to indicate the same.
Looking good btw

I am really loving this table great work. Only thing I wish it had more authentic Starwars sounds. Games plays amazing and fast just like I like.
Thanks!
thanks for the kind words.
I tried to keep it in the era it would have been created and designed at a gottlieb system 1, so really no star wars sounds should be in there at all to go with that premise. I may have pushed it a bit with the spinner sound, although not sure on this version as I haven’t played it in quite some time.

Hold on, why are these apart? Did you dog-sled them out to the cabin??
Lol. Not enough room to have everything setup. Quit work last June sold house in town and moved to the cabin.

@jfr1 tough to photo it, but it was I remembered, just 1/4″ of overhang on the wedgehead part. Sinbad and Nobs cabs stored to the left, Joker Poker out of frame to the right but setup and playable.

@jfr1, basically eliminated it. The lower portion has, if I remember right, 1/4″ plywood over the monitor that is on the same plane as the glass above. In fact I think it is what holds the bottom edge of the glass. If I remember I’ll take a pic this weekend, it is disassembled in storage at the cabin at the moment, but the head is easily accessible.

latest t-shirt design, from stenciled cabinet artwork again. didn’t get it perfectly lined up, and I think would probably look better on black, but this is the shirt I had.

January 15, 2021 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Cabinet Rebirth! From the ashes a new cabinet will be born #219698yeah, I don’t got nothin. i’ve mentioned a few times in a few threads that an ultra-wide (21:9) display would be the way to go if you could get one big enough. Philips used to make a 55″ back in the day that would have been perfect(other than being soso for gaming and 1080p), not sure what’s out there now days.

I’ve been tinkering with it on and off, but really have not been doing much vp of late. I did at one point pull it into VPE to check that out but didn’t go much beyond that.

yeah, I’m with you on the remake, and I have about zero confidence in my vpx table being accurate on Double-Up. A little more on Gemini as I had better source image but still not trusting the deskew/stretch enough to even think about doing a remake.

Someone recently posted in the what did you bring home today thread on pinside a very nice Bally Double-Up that had a nice picture of the cabinet artwork, which I thought would make a nice shirt pattern. So a little time in Illustrator and out with the vinyl cutter, and another shirt for me :) Colors are not necessarily what I would pick, but they are what I had on hand so there it is.
Here is the post with the machine, very nice https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/what-machine-did-you-bring-home-today-post-your-pictures/page/375#post-6022077
And in case you missed it, here is a link to the VPX table I did of this some time back https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/double-up-bally-1970/
I would love to have one of these machines someday, but with only 55 made it’s not too likely.
Illustrator file attached if anyone wants it, might make a good wheel as well. Also has the Bally logo which is on the front pocket of the shirt (if not for the pocket the design would be on the front, only ’empty’ shirt I had handy).

November 2, 2020 at 7:03 pm in reply to: Asteroid Annie and the Aliens (Gottlieb 1980) – EB Mod #208225I believe this was before the checkerboard pattern spinner. manual shows a B-17175 white spinning target, which is the basic white plastic spinning target. my guess is someone upgraded to the checkerboard one for better spinage.

hi!! the score LED’s are not working im on 10.6 https://prnt.sc/uvn6xk
if you are running on a desktop without using a backglass display you need to have Disable B2s checked in the menus under Preferences, Configure Keys Nudge and DOF in order for the desktop leds to show.
