This is an update to francisco666’s excellent VPX port of Twister. Thanks go to him for his table, and the permission to mod it.
I’ve made many functional fixes, physics tweaks, and visual updates. I’ve used the NFozzy/Rothbauerw physics tutorial to set the physics, I think it plays much be…[Read more]
For anyone who uses freeplay, I have uploaded a very small update at vpu to cover a dot error; all other cases should already be covered so don’t bother if you use credits or don’t have a dot.Thank you for the update Slippifishi! I would simplify that – get the update if you’re using free play. For those unaware of a “dot” – if the table detec…[Read more]
One thing I’ve noticed – if you shoot up towards the pops either round the right orbit or up the dino lane while keeping one of the flippers energised as soon as the ball goes under the dino (is there a switch under there?) the flipper drops as if power to the solenoid has been cut, if you hit the button again they respond fine, but you have to…[Read more]
The size difference is expected, the file is not UPX packed the same way Fuzzel does with his releases. Not sure about the D3D error. Sometimes systems are sensitive to what version of visual studio is used to build the binary. It was just a quick offering to possibly help some folks out, if it doesn’t work best to wait for the offic…[Read more]
For those who want to disable playfield reflections in video settings, and not have to do it on a table by table basis, here is an updated version of VPinballx.exe that should be compatible with this table and others when playfield reflections are disabled.
Thank you it worked, and the LUTmeUP is there any way to disable or change it somehow, it increases and decreases on nudge left an right.
Check the keys you are using for nudge. It sounds like they are the same as the Magna saves.
The only prob that bugs me is that the ball rolling sound is hearable even though the ball is sitting on the flipper and not rolling. That isn’t happening for me. Sometimes it can be the result of a ball falling off the table. Also note if the machine is moving, it makes a grinding sound sort of similar to the ball rolling.
Too bad all the flashers look off with my rather unorthodox viewing angle
That’s something that ought to be brought to everyone’s attention – the technique used for flashers in this table is very POV specific. For that reason we do not recommend tweaking the provided POV.
Is the double sound of the right flipper intended? It is, because there are two flippers on the right side. There’s a sound flipper(s)UpRight that does this. You can replace it with the FlipperUpLeft sound with a single clunk if you prefer.
Thanks for the bug report. None of the three of us have a full DOF setup and no one in the beta group mentioned that one. It’s easy enough to fix. We will see what other issues pop up and include it in the next update. In the meantime you can go into sound manager and just delete the offending sounds.
The DOF profile currently has the shaker set to go off when the left and right apron diverters activate. This produces a shake right when the ball is trying to traverse the apron, which can disrupt the flow and cause it to drain. The table will ball save for you, but, it happens way more than it should b…[Read more]
After spending more time with the table, I think the physics on this are the best of all VPX tables I’ve played.
It’s hard to catch the ball with the flippers. The ball bounces off things on the lower PF like the lamp with gusto (sometimes straight into the drain!). Yet the overall flipper strength isn’t so out of control – it’s just eno…[Read more]
