I don’t think 10.7 is your only option to fix. Works perfectly in 10.6 for me. Just make sure your global video options include having “Reflect dynamic elements” checked.

On my old cab I had a plug on the underside for a mame control panel to plug in. I hardly ever used it and I wonder if I will with this one…hmm. I do like the small counter top mame cabs. I am trying to see what a stubby cab looks like, is the tv mounted on the wall?

Looks great can’t work out how to rid the rectangular stuff on the faces :(This has got to be a non-current version of 10.6 or someone cranking up some lighting settings beyond reason. Surprised to see a couple people with this problem.
Make sure you have the final release version of VPX 10.6 and the day/night slider is where S…[Read more]

I would really have to do some measurements to make sure this is feasible but first thought I was thinking something like this…
I would love to hear from someone that has a vertical cabinet that has played both. I guess I could hook up a tv and set it upright and see if I like it. Now I just have to figure out where the mister is gonna…[Read more] -

I know bezels aren’t typically used in traditional cabs because you want the screen to fit the whole cab, but upright it would be more like a mame cab and bezels are used most of the time. I was really trying to find a 4K tv in the 32-40 inch range but it doesn’t look like there are a lot of them out there. If there was a way to make vpx run i…[Read more]

Would it be possible and practicable to have a vertical screen for the playfield and have the dmd be the top portion of it. I only know how to use full screen in vpx, popper would be easy to setup. I know freezys can be anywhere but vpx isn’t adjustable on the screen right?. If I needed to take up space on either side of the screen it coul…[Read more]

@bombaj35 you might need to update your install and check your settings. It shouldn’t look like that.

I like the pin-stubby hybrid (I have one and use it with a computer monitor since I don’t have VR (yet)).
You could also go full @borgdog and get a curved screen. He has long maintained you’d be playing at much closer to the correct aspect ratio of a pinball machine that way. I’d just suggest getting a really good one so your view angles aren’t a…[Read more]

Such a unique table. Hope someone jumps in to help out.
Got completely trampled on this game at a tournament. Just couldn’t get a good handle on the rules. My wife on the other hand placed first in her grouping on it.

Looks and plays just great. Thanks @skitso!
Have to say this is a new favorite in terms of physics. @rothbauerw, you really outdid even your own excellent work.

I am at a point of do or die and I could really use some help.
As some of you know, I lost my job temporarily with the airlines due to COVID and low passenger numbers. I ended up selling my house and moving to Rock Island to take military orders. I really can’t complain because I know a lot of people have it a lot worse, and monetarily I am in…[Read more]

I know Magnotron (and Duotron) aren’t regarded as classics of the era but something about this game has always really appealed to me. Pretty sure it starts with the backglass art, but I also really enjoy the gameplay.

Gameplay mostly. Visuals aren’t worth addressing without new resources. This was just a fun tweak between projects so I don’t expect at this point to go back in and do much with it.
Sometimes during multiball two balls can get stuck in the start mode scoop. Would be nice if someone can come up with a solution for that.

@grunger – turned the link back on for a while. Was hoping to keep improving it but haven’t received a peep of feedback so I moved on to other things.

ROM won’t mess with ball behavior. Make sure you’re on VPX 10.6 final and there isn’t any funny business going on with your accelerometer/tilt/Pinscape. How do other games behave for you?

I wouldn’t take it too personally. It’s a fun idea but could also be divisive as smaller tribes within the community are bound to feel defensive when they don’t feel represented to the magnitude that they view themselves. That will always happen in popularity contests regardless of the hobby.
At the end of the day there are lots of good games on…[Read more]
