When Onevox, Bord and I were working on Cuphead there would be down days where I’d send off code and then the graphics wizards would work away on, well graphics stuff (shows how much I know about that) so I’d have some down time. I got to looking around on thingiverse and found this cool cuphead stl file so I 3D printed it to see how it looks…[Read more]

Congrats Onevox on a really swell table! Thanks for letting me mess around with the scripting and game rule set, it was a lot of fun working with you on this.
While Bord, Onevox and I were sending versions of the table around I took a look on thingiverse and found a cool Cuphead stl file that I 3D printed and painted gold. Bord made a name p…[Read more]

Try this, export the PG bell/chime sound file in sound manager, import the file into GT, rename the PG import to the name used by GT for bell/chime and delete the GT original file and see if that fixes your problem. If so then Thalamus is right, it is the GT sound file for bell/chime that is the problem.
If you don’t know how to do this in VP…[Read more]

Ooh nice job Thalamus!
I recorded those chime sounds by removing the bell from the game, mounting it on a wooden block, putting it under a bucket (because my condenser mic was picking up too much background noise) and then hitting it with a screwdriver to get just the right sound. I recorded it with audacity and maybe the…[Read more]

Is chime the only sound that is not working on the table? Can you open the table in the editor, go to sound manager and play the chime/bell sound successfully? Does my either Pirate Gold or Wiggler tables cause this problem (same code)? Can you export a bell/chime sound from another table, import it into GT, rename it in place of the ex…[Read more]

Changing the DOF chime setting is a great first place to start. The table has these turned off my default and if they were enabled they would cause no sound to be played for chimes/bells. This would have no impact on the bumpers however.
Have you tried either The Wiggler or Pirate Gold? Both of these have just been released and have the sam…[Read more]

@dsabin1, which sound option are you choosing in the options menu (hold left flipper while table in stand-by)?

@Aldolfo hold the left flipper button for a few seconds while the table is not in game play.

@hotpepper I think the Bally’s Dixieland has a super long “death lane” as well.

@Dutchman I’ve never played this table in person so I’m very interested in your thoughts about game play. I bet that you are right about getting only one yellow reel bonus point for kicking out two balls.
All that I had to go on to figure out the rule set was the schematic and I’ve included here the section that deals with advancing these…[Read more]

@Dazz they might be? I think I got the photos from Loserman76 and stitched them together in Photoshop and Bord removed all of the playfield parts and lined them up to known Bally specs but it has been a while and I might be wrong about this.
At any rate thanks for taking them! When I first started work on this all I had was some low res p…[Read more]

That’s an interesting point, more mature members of this forum grew up playing these EM tables and they set the standard for us as to what pinball is. Once the flashy SS tables came out it they made EM’s look not too exciting because they don’t have call outs, flashers, DMD and the list goes on.
My guess is that younger players tried a few EM…[Read more]

Yeah Webster that bothered me too but there was no fixing it without effecting play so as the Beatles said I just “Let it Be.” Look at it as adding character.

What a clever table theme and design, really well done! Did you ever consider using 2″ flippers to make it a little harder to play? Emboss them with “D Goblett” and it would be stunning!
