It was totally the rom. I had downloaded the first one from the pinball DB site. I just tried the one from vpforums, it’s much larger (one extra file in the zip), and it fixed the issue right away.

I will see about updating to the latest version of the SAMbuilt vpinmame. The rom was a fresh download, as I was using a different rom (gold version) with the previous version of the table. I’ll find another source.

I am having pretty bad lag with this table, and only this table. I only just now got around to updating my VPX and trying this. My machine is a core i7-7700k, with a GTX 1070, all running on SSD. Everything else plays very fast at 4k with no stutters.
I have just upgraded to the latest beta revision of VPX 10.6 from 10.5. Everything else remains…[Read more]

Search for “white water db2s” on Google. That second result there, from bassgeige, is the one I use.

Agreed. Personally, if it were my company, I would not bother supporting the virtual pinball world at all with any application. It’s of no benefit to them, just extra work. It’s good for us that it works like it does now, and mostly what we need for our tables is out there, with newer tables not needing this stuff as much, as they have higher…[Read more]

Personally, I much, much prefer to use the external software as it makes it easier to tweak volume for each table, as you can tweak music, effects, and voice independently. And fewer mixes are compatible with mode 1 anyway. Downside is it’s clunky, and you have to choose your poison. Version 0.8 doesn’t do the Stern tables (and probably mixes that…[Read more]

Thanks, yeah, I’m aware of that setting, but was reluctant to tweak it as I’d rather play the tables as they are “supposed to be”. I’ll try and see what it does when I get a chance.

I don’t participate in the GOTW, or change the physics (I don’t have the experience for that). I’m not even that interested in the high scores nearly as much as just going through the modes and seeing things light up on the table. Yes, you can play with perfect control every time and “nail” the shots (there are some tables where I actually have to…[Read more]

Thanks, but no need for help with ramp shots or ball control personally, just wanted to make a comment, as for me this plays different from quite a few other tables, and I was surprised by the repetitive aspect of those drains. But as I said, it might just be how this table is and nothing to do with the VPX version. No need to turn a valid comment…[Read more]

Yes, it’s possible. It might just need a bit more randomness to it.

haha, that video, yes, losing the 2 balls in 2 seconds like this is definitely what I experienced, although not just on the multiball. I guess I’ll need to get used to manhandling the cabinet a bit more.

Thanks, yeah, I just found it a bit unusual and repetitive compared to other tables, even those who drain a lot but seem more random about it than this one.

This is a beautiful table, thanks to all involved!
I have to ask this though. I don’t know the original table at all. When any ball goes about halfway up one of the ramps, it shoots back down at speed directly down the middle, practically every single time. Also, the ball feels a bit like it’s a heat seeking missile towards the drains, the left…[Read more]

I use it to “create” a subwoofer channel using 50% of each of the backglass speaker channels, and 25% of each of the 4 exciter channels. That seems to work well for me although I might try to up the percentage from the exciters and see how that works. I have a high-pass filter on the backglass speakers (depending on their specs) and let the…[Read more]

I have never paid attention to that setting or touched it, but in CFTBL it seems that it’s pretty easy to hit the ramps over and over, but on the other hand, getting STDM all the time. I haven’t played any other table where I beat the “grand champion” score after just a few games like this. It may have been set low to begin with though.

This is a really cool looking and well done, beautiful table. As for the original, I don’t know it myself but I can’t imagine many people wanting to put quarters in it, holy drainage hell!

If I could make a little wish, it would be for the sidewalls to be taller, so we can have the cool reflections in a cab with a bit of inclination. This table is awesome otherwise.

Posting on both forums…
The floating scores don’t work on mine either (same error) and I’m in the US, with default US locale.
My pinmame is final V3.0 plus SAM build (because color roms).

In my case, it creates a large DMD right above the playfield (floating scores disabled), and constantly resets the position of the actual DMD to 0:0 in the registry.

I have the nudge through the KL25Z and Pinscape software, and a real mechanical tilt bob. The nudge seems affected a little bit by the effects, but I really have not tweaked it much yet. I’ve got my dead zone at 5 right now.
