Has anyone encountered this error: Object Required Controller

I cannot get VPVR to run any tables as it says it cannot find this object. I’ve tried Attack from Mars (new one released), Corvette, Jurassic Park…

My normal VP works fine…I’m struggling with VPVR..

      Thank you!!

Yeah not enough info to help, What VR rig are you running ? How are you running it ? if its Quest (Link or Virtual Desktop) Is Steam on & running ? Did you follow Sixtoe’s VR PINBALL GUIDE ? You are using VPinballX_GL.exe aren’t you lol ? etc etc etc

I have been trying to remap to use the quest with virtual desktop in gamepad mode but thats not working and neither are any of the keyboard buttons even when i just use the oculus with actual keyboard bindings. Would love some help just to control the thing with the keyboard at least.

Yep, I put another small button on my cab & named it center lolz & assigned it to (  Num Pad 5 )

Now all ya gotta do is press that button infront of your cab

and keep pressing it while adjusting your head &/or body slightly until your happy

should only take 3 or 4 presses when you get used to it :good:

Virtual Pinball’s most Underrated Table, this has always been a Gem.

Would sacrifice a hairy animal lol to see this with New Resources & omg in VR this would be insane.

Thanks for sharing your rig setup with us, glad you have the toys you enjoy and it gives you pleasure & enjoyment to spend time on your hobbies. If we only get one chance to enjoy ourselves this is the way to go. Well done mate.

That’s badass. Now you know you need a second one, right? Another member, Fulltilt, has a pretty amazing racing simulator setup. Not an arcade cabinet but the full racing seat, pedals, force feedback wheel, etc. I’ve always wanted a racing cabinet or simulator setup but the funds required to do so remain elusive….. would be awesome to have a pair though!

Thanks man, i don’t think i can get that lucky twice lol, would be so cool having a second, but theres only just enough room left in the garage for a nice single player coin pusher, like Deep Sea Treasures ( Discontinued now)see pic below ( its an obession, i know how sad ). Like you fren I’ve always wanted a racing cabinet or simulator setup ( a Daytona to be exact ) , but really glad a low priced cab never eventuated now :yahoo: , i have probably seen Fulltilt’s setup if his on youtube , checking with some people in the know this week if there’s an easy/plug-play method of hooking up the XBOX1 to play Forza 6 on it without loosing the original game, would be a compromise to the pair as we can then race online. Will update you guys on my progress and leave info here to help anyone else that might be interested in doing a similar setup.

Sorry about posting non vpin related stuff, at least that fits in my house & love playing it too. i’m just damn excited with my new toy and had to let you guys know. Cheers

Wow that must have been a great deal :)

Yeah, so lucky the timing was perfect after the disastrous coin pusher fail, i thought i was out of luck. The guy could have easily have gotten 1600 bucks for it, as they are selling here atm in AUS used for $2000 http://www.highway.net.au/arcade-machines/arcade-driving-machines/road-fighters-3d/11584-3.html
He was so generous to give it to me for 500, i couldn’t believe it, it took 3 grown men + 2 kids to move the screen part up the stairs of his place and put it on my trailer and it was 39c (102F) in the shade on Saturday, we had a beer lol after we got that on, sweating, then the chair part only weighed 106kg and got that on easily, no idea how much the front weighed but i bet it was more than a fat kid on a chocolate cake

Update: Ok so i offered him 700 bucks for it and he accepted YaY, so i went to get it and asked him to have it running so i could have a quick go on it and then take it. When i arrived luckily only 20min from my place, it was ON (some flashing lights), but that was IT :negative: none of the screens where all the action happens were working, none of the tray motors were moving at all. It was Dead  , needless to say i wasn’t happy and he knew it, luckily no money was exchanged, so i went home devastated and so were the kids that afternoon when they were told.

                            But wait, there more

…..Continued, that night i thought i would search for another coin pusher (slim chance here in OZ), when i came across something ive also been after for a while now, for my little arcade collection. An arcade racer, i had plans on building one and put an XBOX360 to play Forza , but my building skills are limited. So i thought i would just offer him a low price thinking he wouldn’t take it. But Bingo, the guy was moving interstate and very kindly took my offer & now I’m happy as Larry with my new arcade machine for 500 bucks, its huge, gorgeous and the game is bloody awesome fun, but will hopefully add an xbox360 to it aswell, when i figure out how. So in the end they lived happily ever after and one day my collection will be complete with a coin pusher. lol

I am having a problem that I had with AC/DC. If I try to run the directb2s I get an invalid ROM abort message. If I use vpinmame, the rom works fine. Never did solve this for AC/DC.. Works fine on my other cab – but that one isnt powerful enought for VPx :-(
Can anyone provide a link to the directb2s that I should be using – in case it is not the right one.
(latest vpx, latest vpinmame, rom test and works fine in setup.exe)

Mate please find attached the one that works for me , also attached the AC/DC one hope these work for you.

OK mate hope that helps. Also Not sure if this applies to Windows 10 , but check this first to make sure your system is using all available memory :
                                  1. Check your system properties
                                  (If it says “x.xx usable”)
                                  2. Click on the start button, search “msconfig” and press enter.
                                  3. Go to the boot tab and click advanced options
                                  4. UNTICK the “Maximum memory” box
                                  5. Click ok, on the small dialog box
                                  6. Click apply and OK in the big dialog box.
                                  7. Restart and check your system properties.

Then Enable Fast FXAA in vp10beta video options and the stutter should go away, mine will stutter if this is not enabled and i can’t tell the difference if there is any loss in quality or not.

With what kind of hardware you’re running VPX? I had to buy new graphics card yesterday to be able to play anything on VPX. Now it runs quite ok but on multiballs and such it still stutters a lot. So maybe I’ve to get new processor too? :) Or it just could be because I’m running Windows 10 ?

                                    Hey mate, I’m running a very basic system : WIn7 64bit Ultimate , Intel i5 3.10ghz (not overclocked) , 8gigs DDR3 RAM , Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 2gig (not overclocked).

I can tell you most people use win7 or XP if that helps, but i mainly just played around with the video card settings until i got a steady 60 FPS from all my tables and installed a little dos based program that apparently uses all your ram and dosen’t limit programs to 4GB (sorry can’t remember the name).

Try enabling Fast FXAA in vp10beta video options and see if the stutter goes away.

I totally understand where your coming from mate, it seems the older we get the less time we have to do the things we enjoy in our spare time and changes in systems we establish for ourselves to keep on top things come crashing down and feel like we need to start new with a fresh system that we haven’t got the time or patience to do. I’m hearing you, we need robots to do all the mundane day to day tasks that keep us from enjoying this one time event called Life.

I appreciate the efforts of all involved. But when they broke compatibility that hurt me. I have like 700 tables on my cab, and I’m not going to start from scratch. I just don’t have the time. Then they change the scripting so I feel really outdated….

Hey itchigo , i know what you mean, but like randr said that users like me will still be running all the other versions from pinballx, so all the great EM’s i have from you on my cab really don’t need updating IMHO, i think only the kids need all the lights bangs and whistles, the PS4/XBOX1 generation, us older folk appreciate things for what they are.

Hopefully by VP10 final, things will be clearer and all the ongoing new changes implemented might end up in a standardized form , like templates applicable to all new tables so us mere mortals can have a go at it too.

Need to bump this up a bit.. likely want this in all your vp10 games. Get the rolling sounds and bumps back :-)

Replace the existing function with this:

Function Vol(ball) ‘ Calculates the Volume of the sound based on the ball speed
                                          Vol = Csng((BallVel(ball)*0.3 + 4)/10)
                                          End Sub

Yep :good: that did the trick, Perfect. Thank you for taking the time to check that out & provide that solution, that level is perfect for me, sorry for assuming you didn’t add all the sounds for rubbers, posts, gates and rolling sounds, my bad. I thought maybe it might just have been my cab as i use the unorthodox 5.1 surround in it which works exactly the way i like it, but not all tables work well with it.

                                          Cheers Mate :yahoo:

A new update for Whoa Nellie – Big Juicy Melons!

Over 380 ROM sounds, speech clips and song tracks are now included. Also more rules corrected based on internet videos to better match the pinball.

Also includes DOF config thanks to Angrim

Perhaps the last version – unless you find bugs :-(

Hey Daryl , could you please add the ‘bump’ sound for the upper lanes and anywhere else you might think it would work, like in this video at 0:12 please : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AStT1CM9mls , i think freneticamnesic did Fastdraw table and all of Pinuck’s EM tables have it aswell ( Borrow from them, the sound, with permission of-course ), everytime i plunge the ball at the upper lanes im waiting for that “thump that never comes” lol, adds that final touch to what is already another great kickass EM tournament table for me anyway. BTW that highscore sticky note looks super sexy on my cab.
If you don’t want to, thats OK , no worries, but can an author here gimme a couple of pointers on how i go about doing this myself. Cheers
