At one time DOFLinx required admin to work for most people. Today, it may or may not be required depending on your PC’s settings.

Most likely because you have some of your pup displays set to rotate that this pup-pack uses. You shouldn’t need to have any pup display set to rotate if you have all your media setup / converted correctly for popper.

          Correction for the description:

          – original table by Rom
          – converted to VPX by randr
          – details, pf videos, DOF, PuP by TerryRed
          – SSF by Thalamus
          – PUPDMD by LynnInDenver

…and whatever changes you guys did for the VR table :)

          Otherwise…. great work on this.

You do what you gotta do. We can be patient until you are able to find a solution.

For uploads over 100 MB (which can be most tables by themselves nowadays)… if need be, we can use a link to another share in the meantime.

As an example of a site that became unstable because of spam and attacks is gopinball. Lots of history there… but it gets so much spam posting that it became unusable.

RetroFlair 2 – “Behind the Scenes”. A visual showcase of how all the magic happens! (Future Pinball)

Wow! Thanks for all the praise I’ve been seeing for my first preview video for RetroFlair 2. As a result, I decided to do a unique video that “shows” you how it all works behind the scenes in “real-time”. I demonstrate how I use BAM’s many features to create and do all the cool things you see (without being too technical), and how I brought Tron to life in a pinball game like you’ve never seen before.

Note: the stutters seen in the video from about 24:00 to 40:00’ish are a result of the Youtube video conversion. :(

Normal gameplay is silky smooth with no stutters.

Everything is bookmarked for quick reference:

                    Introduction – 0:00
                    Inspiration and motives – 2:04
                    Lighting – 3:01
                    Texture Animations – 6:01
                    Inserts – 7:34
                    Table Misc Features – 9:54
BAM Custom Models, Animated Characters – 13:11
                    BAM Mini Playfields – 15:39
                    Magna-Portal 20:23
TRON Epic Gamez mode – 24:26
                    Disc Wars – 33:16
Animated Character Opponent Targets – 36:54
                    LightCycle Battle – 38:39
                    LightJet Battle – 46:00

Any FP tables I updated for DOFLinx will use all the main dof toys and lighting. Avatar, Tron Legacy, etc.

If a FP table is NOT updated for DOFLinx support… then DOFLinx falls back to whatever your DOFLinx.ini is setup for in terms of undercab lighting, and key_to_output or flippers settings, etc…. if you have any of that setup in the ini.

This is why you dont want doflinx running/activated with pinevent tables because you will get both activating dof at the same time and its a mess.

Not all tables updated for DOFLinx are complete and proper configs…. so they may not have much for normal DOf toy support…etc. Depends on who did the mod.

The only thing I have trouble with this instruction is that I can’t move dmd to right position :( yes I have use the guide 2 times but it’s don’t want to work

You are reading the wrong guide. You need to be reading the Pinevent guide… and following everything there.

DOFLinx “DOF” does not use DOF Config Tool at all. The DOF hardware / ports is completely configured in the DOFLinx.ini and the triggered DOF actions / effects / duration etc are all in the table script. So adding anything to a table config in DOF Config Tool will have no effect.

The only exception are MX Leds which require DOf Config Tool to work with DOFLinx. That’s why the table that have fill DOf and MX leds support for doflinx, only show MX Leds in their config on DOF Config Tool.

The reason why there are many empty configs for FP tables on DOf Config Tool is because I added them long ago so if anyone wanted to add support, they don’t need to hassle randr or Arngrim to add the tables in each time.

PinEvent works like VPX in that it accesses DOF directly (no doflinx), so it uses DOF config tool for its all DOF / MX leds, etc. The PinEvent tables have their own separate config because I didnt want anyone else frankly messing with my configs and screwing up shit. The other table configs are there for them to use for their own tables, etc.

Not to confuse even more… but anyone can use the example txt files I included in the Baller Installer that shows how anyone can add DOF or pup support to any FP table without needing DOFLinx or PinEvent (it uses same basic code I use for PinEvent, but not all of its features).

Also, as a heads up… there is a new version of FutureDMD being worked on (by a different author) that is in beta testing right now.

This is a HUGE update with a crap load of features. It’s honestly a totally different program as very impressive with all the options / rendering / settings / per table options it has.

Link to this thread is here. He’s already got many updates and features added since the last beta. He is active in the FutureDMD section on the Virtual Pinball Discord Chat Discord group where he shares more updated betas.

slamtilts ultimate avatar. the ball has a basketball logo for me

You must have hit either the N or P key, because that is what will change the ball texture during gameplay, and the ball you last had it set to is kept the next time a table runs.

Just press N or P until you see the default ball again.

Only DOFLinx modded tables will have DOF from DOFLinx. They are here:

A basketball? Where? On the table? Which Tron table?

Makes my head hurt to think what went into this thing, Terry. Looks absolutely bonkers.

Love seeing your creativity and passion for pushing the envelope.

Coming from you… that is a compliment to the highest degree.

Yes. I think that many table authors would cry when they see the code alone for this thing. :)

I had to create (more to come) the equivalent of 3 tables almost. So much has to be created and then changed for each one.

All the above (and much more) needs to be changed and managed… and all textures, lights, flashers… literally everything on the table is managed and adjusted for G.I. lighting on / off…everything. Brightness, colour, bump map levels.. all changed dynamically.

Honestly…. the only bummer is being limited by FP being a 32 bit app… so there is a limit to what I can add to a table before it can’t address any more ram (VPX has the same limitations). The table at one point was at the limits of what could be addressed and was crashing. I found that converting all textures to jpg (except for the many TGA images I need) and removing extra “colour data” and other things not needed by FP helped A LOT. Table went from 270MB down to 160MB from that alone.

                                        Even more craziness to come.

                                            @schreibi34

Thank you SO MUCH for your gorgeous pre-rendered inserts!

I wanted to show you how I put them to good use with something I’m really proud of.

                                            RetroFlair 2 – EPIC Gamez N Tunes

Preview Video featuring Table features and the entire Tron EPIC Gamez mode.

Finally…the first preview of my EPIC sequel to ROM’s classic FP table. Be prepared to have your jaw drop as you have never seen virtual pinball like this! This features the most EPIC Tron pinball game ever made… with a surprise “BIG” ending!

Get yourself some popcorn, get comfy…. and watch the entire video from start to finish.

I don’t want to say too much and spoil the MANY cool moments you will see. I show the entire Tron mode playthrough non-stop… and its one EPIC moment after another.

This was a real work of passion to try things I’ve always wanted to do, and also show what can be done in digital pinball with a little imagination and time. This table is using many of BAM’s latest features, as well as using the new “TerryRed texture animation” method I came up with that is used throughout the table. Combined with FP-BAM’s amazing dynamic lighting, this makes for stunning visuals.

I’ve always wanted to do my own table and also my own version of a Tron pinball game and here it is.. You won’t be disappointed.
