      Table By Loserman76
Backglass image used in B2S courtesy of Wildman

The playfield is a redraw 100% by me. So if it sucks, you know why – haha

I’ve included a wheel image, but it has been sitting on my hard drive for so long that I forgot who did it. If it is yours, let me know and I’ll add you to the credits.

Includes stuff/tips/tricks from hauntfreaks, BorgDog, GNance, JPSalas, Pinuck and probably many others that I’ve missed.

when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. left flipper selects item, right flipper changes option

in addition to the “standard” keys (typically “1” to start game and “5” for coin), I’ve added “3” for coin and “4” for coin and auto-start game to simulate 3 coin slots

      Shadow config settings:

Look for these 2 lines near the beginning of the scripting:

      Const ShadowFlippersOn = true
      Const ShadowBallOn = true

change to false if you want either of the shadows not showing on your tables

Awesome! Thanks for your work, @Loserman76. Not sure I’ve ever played one of these IRL.

wow!, this is fantastic guys. :yahoo:
I had the chance to play many times in the real pinball machine in the 70s, in Spain we had a version of the manufacturer “petaco”, his name was not 4 square, it was 4X4,
thank you very much loserman76 for this excellent work and thanks also to all those who have collaborated and for making it possible to enjoy this classic electro mechanical pinball. :bye:

This is a superbly addictive and fun game. I think I played it for an hour before I finally got a decent score (6000’ish).  Gameplay is not for the faint of heart.

1st Spoiler alert, keep the ball at the top of the table because aiming for those lower targets will kill your game.

2nd Spoiler alert: That first spoiler alert isn’t a spoiler, this is how you have to play the real table to do well so kudos to Loserman for nailing another quality EM, the gameplay is spot on

Good tips, man. I managed 8785 tonight (see post-it) and had a blast doing it. This is a great game!

Great game Bord, and a nice looking screenshot  ;-) What kind of lighting adjustments did you do to get the warm glow effect? Was it just an Env/Lut change or something more?

I got hooked on the game so on my lunch break I threw it in Blender and rendered out a lighting layer for the PF and then did the same for the sidewalls. I didn’t render a GI off state so it kinda breaks the effect after a game but I had to get back to playing. My goal now is to roll the score…

unfortunately I have less time for vp, i’m late about the SS releases and if I add the EM tables, this is too much for me for the moment.

Hopefully someone can take the EM, loserman is putting the DOF calls into his scripts already so there just need to fill the dof config in the configtool, well, some verification that the dof script can be good also

bord:  nice lighting!!!   Great score, though now every time I see the high score’s AAA initial, I’ll think you set it!  The challenge is on, gonna be hard to roll thing one, but as with any well designed game, it’s doable, we just gotta go into “the zone”

Yeah, my button needs some adjusting. I get double or triple hits regularly.

I have created an entry for 4 Square (change game name in the script to 4square_1971) in the configtool. It is empty now but anyone interested can submit their config for testing/approval.

if i change the game name to 4square_1971 than the b2s backglas won´t start anymore. never had those issue …

i´ve updated all (dof config; created some bumpers (e105 for example) in table config etc.). dof works then; but no b2s backglas.

if i leave gamename empty or i leave the old game name, than the backglas starts as expected.

searched the script for issues; but i´m not a scripting guru.

                                      any ideas ?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this was my mistake. I was trying to keep alpha order in the config system without realizing that a number at the beginning wouldn’t work.

SO return the game name to Loserman’s original: GTB_4Square_1971 (clearly he’s smarter than me). Your config entry should still be there for this game.

Let me know if it is working. Thanks!
