Hi all, I’ll be putting 7.1 SSF in my cab and was wondering if anyone had recommendations on the card to get? I’m considering these two, this one or this one, and would appreciate your feedback or your recommendations. Thanks!

August 30, 2020 at 11:19 am #198622Oh, and a follow up question. I see that amps required as well. I am already ordering this for my cab, so does that mean I also need to order additional amps for the SSF system?
Am I inadvertently doubling up on anything here, i.e. getting two sub woofers instead of one? Should I just get the 7.1 card and connect it to both the front speakers and the exciter speakers?

August 30, 2020 at 11:34 am #198629I just read this, so yeah, it looks like I need to get additional amps, although I can maybe share the sub-woofer:
“Separate music speakers and playfield surround speakers: This is the most powerful setup. We keep the backbox speakers and subwoofer from the basic stereo system, and we add four speakers inside the cabinet, placed near the corners. This lets VP balance the volume among the four in-cab speakers to make it sound like each mechanical effect is coming from a precise position on the playfield.
To implement this, you need everything from the basic system, plus:
Four in-cab speakers, typically “exciters”
Two additional 2-channel or 2.1-channel amplifiers, or a 4-channel amplifier
A second sound card, only if your PC motherboard doesn’t have 7.1-channel surround sound audio output”You need to login in order to like this post: click here
