      Hi,

I just started the pinup system as a frontend and it is awesome. However, I keep getting this error popup during game play. It happens only with vpx. Any help is appreciated. Thank you and have a great day. I hope I post this in the right section.

happens on all tables?  on startup of game…or during regular playing… always or random?

makes no sense that you’d get that error (which looks like a media player error) during gameplay…. is it a PuP Player table maybe?

if you get it on startup,  try changing from exclusive full screen to windowed

          Hello Sir,

Yes the popup appears on most tables, usually after a table starts.  I alt-tab to check and it’s almost always there. I have to use the mouse to close it.  It does not appear to affect playing the games though.  No, I am not playing PUP tables, just regular ones. I use full screen, and just for testing, I disabled it and the error still appears.  Thank you for replying quickly and I hope there is a solution. Really love the front end. Thanks again and have a great day.

By the way, I just installed the Pinball FX2 just to see if it happens, I got the same error.  Very strange.

ah… i just read the window title wrong.  thats the PUPDMD interface error.  which hardware DMD are you using (pindmd3?)

also try the file here:  http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=hardware

Oh my gosh, you are a saint. I updated the file and it seems to solve that.  I’ve tried several tables and didn’t see any popup.  Thank you sir for your kindness. Have a blessed day. Very appreciative of your help.

                    Hi NailBuster,

I rejoiced too soon. The error popped up again. In the Wiki tutorial, you said upgrade to the latest version of DMDController. Can you guide me to the correct controller for the pindmd v3?  I downloaded the PUPDMDControl.exe and replaced the old one in the VPinmame folder.  I tried a few tables and didn’t see any popup. Now it’s appearing again. Thanks again.

there’s only the one dmdcontroler file you already have….not much Popper can do with pindmdv3…

Popper doesn’t know what hardware dmd you have and just uses dmddevice.dll for output.

works fine with pin2dmd and others but it seems pindmdv3 is either too slow or the dmddevice driver for it isn’t 100% (which isn’t my code).

don’t know if using just pngs instead of animated gifs will help.  and i believe the speed of your PC might make a diff.

Thank you NailBuster. I guess I have to live without the dmd right now since I like the front end very much. Hopefully, future updates will allow that to happen. Thank you again for a great front end.
