May 5, 2019 at 5:47 pm #127271@jfr1 : this is the more detailed info http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/2869-b2s-server-new-feature-aspect-ratio/ – just some small adjustments and a black background needed it seems. Oh. and if you’re using modified db2s server from Nailbuster. You might have troubles because he forces the backglass to the back. I believe it will become a black screen if you do it right. You have to add a force to back setting in the top of the db2ssettings.xml. DjRobX fixed this broken feature in his release, I compiled my own from his upstream

May 7, 2019 at 3:24 pm #127535Sorry, I think I’m getting too old !
I didn’t see that:
“There is an options menu for replay/EB, ball shadow, coin/free play, 3/5 ball, etc. if you hold the left flipper during Game Over.”
Anyway, thanks again for this table

May 8, 2019 at 2:16 pm #127619Aspect ratio vs volume. As usual, wrapping my mind around the new option in the backglass server took days of tinkering. Very interesting. But for a bg like Aces, a four player, it has to be pretty big in real life and getting it dimensionally correct means it’s smallish. I had gotten used to the stretched, distorted looks of many of my bg’s. So may stick with those for when I’m playing. But also slowly migrate older tables to a new folder for when real pinheads may be over. And for when I build my Borgdog cabinet!!
Thanks again Thalamus…and Bord. This hobby just keeps getting more and more interesting.

May 8, 2019 at 2:43 pm #127622Honestly. I find that to be much better. Now you only need a picture or video playing in that empty dmd.

May 8, 2019 at 4:49 pm #127648Ha! More homework! Thanks Outhere and Thalamus. You guys really are like professors.
I have a feeling I may get used to the more correct aspect ratio on a lot of single players in my collection. When I have Spin a Card playing side by side the real thing the BG looks pretty wonky. Thanks again guys!! And Bord ….The Pinbot games are another throwback to my more carefree, hang-out at the mall days. I remember the first time I played a Pinbot at an Alladin’s Castle and being amazed. What a treat these tables are!!

May 8, 2019 at 9:37 pm #127661Man, great to hear you’re enjoying Pin Bot.
I sure think the correct aspect ratio looks better in your photo. In the case of Air Aces I had a pretty low resolution image to work with so a smaller size is going to hide some of the detail deficiency, too. Thanks for sharing the photo.

May 8, 2019 at 11:42 pm #127668Enjoying Pinbot?
I fell into this VP stuff just over a year ago. And the creative community here is …crazy cool!
I hadn’t played Pinbot in …decades.  …I may be up all night.
