I have a bit of a problem with B2S. I have over 200 tables on my cab working fine and decided to start adding back glass images. Nothing shows up on the back screen and yes i tried different numbers on that screen.I also have a couple more pc’s that i copied the visual pinball folder on a flash drive on to them and both pc’s showed the B2S just fine.I struggled with this for quite a while and decided to reinstall windows 10 on my cab.Now i get B2S error object reference not set to an instance of an object on all tables. The b2s are named correctly as they work on the other pc’s. I am at a loss here and just might swap out pc’s with my cab but this is nagging me and would like to figure this out. The cab pc is a I7 with a 1080 video card and a very good system. One of the other one has a 2080 card and other one has a 1660 so they are all are good enough for this. Any help would be appreiaciated.

Did you register B2S.sever? right click B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp and choose run as admin to make sure it actually runs. file is in your tables folder

Did you install with the one-in-all installer ? If not. Maybe try a re-install ? db2s needs .net – maybe you don’t have the required version or something related ?

If you hit alt + tab can you see the backglass? The backglass May be running behind the playfield on screen 1.

This would be my guess. It’s probably running but located in some un-viewable space on the desktop.

Show us your screenres.txt and take a snap of one table with db2s from the file-manager, so we can be very sure that your naming isn’t a problem.

0I also noticed a difference in the b2s server option screen on one machine that works and my cab pc that does not.
On the working one the top line reads authentic and other one is grayed out. I hit the locate VP,xml button but could not find it, could that be a problem?
Where could i get that xml file?

That file doesn’t look correct. Here is an old post with info on each parameter :
1366 <– Playfild screen X resolution (width)
768 <– playfield screen Y resolution (height)
1280 <– Backglass screen X resolution (width)
1024 <– Backglass screen Y resolution(height)
2 <– Display number for the backglass
0 <– offset for the backglass on the selected display (normally left at 0)
0 <– offset for the backglass on the selected display (normally left at 0)
600 <– Width of the DMD area in pixls
200 <– Height of the DMD area in pixels
1280 <– X position of the DMD area relative to the upper left corner of the backglass screen
100 <– Y position of the DMD area relative to the upper left corner of the backglass screen
0 <– Y-flip, flips the LED display uppside down. Used in P2K style cabs.Now db2s server can have even more parameters, but, well, first – fix the obvious problem of the second monitor having a x of 1024 and a y of 3. Be also very sure that the monitors are aligned properly under video options.

I do not get that error on the working machine with 1920 x 1080 monitors with same screen txt.
The txt with all the zeros.
Flash and GB-LE are the only ones that work.

And you are sure that the table and db2s is named exactly the same ? You see. Quite recently, there was a change in the db2s server. If you installed from the bottom up you will now be using a server that does not do fuzzy matching the same way as it used to be. So, in theory, you could be having two different db2s servers on those computers and one will be a bitch about the filenames, and the other is not. It only required the 8 first characters to be correct. That is also why I asked you to do a screenshot of explorer. And. No matter how you look at it. Your screenres file is wrong, if you haven’t corrected it by now.
