Not much time for pinball lately.
This is my sons favorite though so I’m doing a quick and dirty build.
Using jps xenon as a base and just turning it into badcats

August 8, 2016 at 8:56 pm #34478He’s 4. Trying to keep his interest in pinball with vp and pinball arcade. He doesnt5really like his zizzle mavel machine much cause the ball gets stuck too much.
Clark gave me some better resources then i had, and I’ve built it in vp and fp so it sould only take a couple of days to build. Adding the bells and whistles may take a bit longer, but should be very easy build

August 10, 2016 at 4:06 am #34501Looking really promising. “Meow meow meow!’ is likely to be heard again from the cabinet very soon in VPX glory

August 10, 2016 at 7:49 am #34508Temporary outside cabinet done.
Apron rubbers and pegs done.
Start of some gi lights.
Have a high poly and low poly tiger ramp selectable from the script.
I think i may add a speaker panel across the back. Or maybe even a full backbox for hybrid view users
Since it has the nice little backbox animation.
If anyone has access to a bad cats and could find out which solenoid the backbox animation is tied to, that would be really awesome.
If not ill figure it out or guess.

August 10, 2016 at 9:10 am #34513I’m a dumbass. I just looked at the solenoid table. The backglass solenoids are listed right in there.
Maybe it was the gi solenoids that were screwy. I remember something funny about the solenoids the last time i built this table

August 10, 2016 at 9:36 am #34515I was able to play a real Bad Cats today. Man, it was dirty and worn out. I have to admit that I was more sorry for the table as for the owner… ;) But it showed me that the ramps are not that steep as in the latest VP9 PM5 release. It was way more easier to shoot the middle ramp than on the vp table. And it plays slow. Very slow. I think a playfield friction of 0.09 or 0.1 should fit the best. Physics of the older VP9 PM5 release is very very close to the real table (except the pf friction and the ramps).
I was able to make some highres photos but as lighting was not very good I think only some of the resources could be used. Not so many resources for Bad Cats available but I think it should be possible to get some.
Because of the BB animation: Just use the dB2S file I made back in 2013 for that table. There are all highres pics with best animation (Herweh did that back then). http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=7604
The animations are fully right there and are fully correct tied to the right solenoids.

August 10, 2016 at 10:16 am #34518The one i played, was really slow playing too. Then i watched. The papa video and that table looks really fast.
I think the settings jp has for xenon should be fairly close for the speed of the table. I just need to check the ramps.
I have a lot of high res inages for the backbox animation from the old fp table i made way back in the day.
Was the gi working on the one you played?
I know jps version had pretty much a static gi, but the one in the papa video the gi flashes quit a bit

August 10, 2016 at 11:26 am #34519Hey Clark… do you have the whole db2s, or did you just plug that background .png into the old one that Herweh made?

August 10, 2016 at 12:39 pm #34520I played one a couple months back at the NW pinball show, was in nice condition and from memory did not seem slow at all, but I wasn’t paying attention to details, just having fun.

August 10, 2016 at 4:24 pm #34532I noticed that the old pf I have is distorted. So all objects are not on the right place. I’m just doing a correct version but it will take at least until friday.

August 10, 2016 at 4:39 pm #34535I should probably hold up then. To make sure i have everything placed and sized correctly. I assume it doesn’t line up with what i am using now. I can upload the pf I’m using now to the dropbox to compare

August 10, 2016 at 4:57 pm #34537I’m using a correct aspect playfield scan (but very low res) as blueprint. So you can use the photoshop file above to begin to place the objects on their correct place. I’ll then finish the playfield step by step. A big portion is already finished.

August 10, 2016 at 5:24 pm #34541Cool. I’ll pull it from the dropbox.
You mind cropping it slightly so the image stops at the edge of the wood on all 4 sides.
Then i can modify my blueprint to fit the image for ramp placement and adjust the pegs and rubbers i have placed already
