Hi all,
Working on ‘ Speakeasy ‘ from Bally.
Redrawn the playfield and plastics from scratch.
Next step was creating the table in vpx.
Now learning Blender with Bords tutorials and YouTube ( more video examples would be helpfull ! )
First thing on to do list : edit some models and learn ‘hdr’ reflection on objects
It’s hard but i’m allready satisfied with the first results
Hope one day the project will progress to a release

April 23, 2020 at 9:58 am #174784Moddeled the card targets and worked on the spinning wheel
next : figuring out how to add reflection on top of the ‘metal objects’
the wheelwall and the cardbracket have the same material but the
cardbracket top stays dull, not reflective

May 30, 2020 at 9:24 am #183579Wow the real table at your home, enjoy it azapatero ! At the moment i’m waiting at bords instruction video’s on exporting blender models into vpx and setting up the materials . When tackled this ( don’t know if i can do it) i also need a scriptexpert and ask how to spin the scorewheel. Tested with adding primitives under the playfield with succes, but adding a ball in the wheel is allready a problem. For example create a ball or light at Z -20 how to ???
What i can start with is making the backglass b2s . If you, azapatero ,can make a high quality picture with lights off this will be a great starting point Also i don’t have the lampnumbers from this backglass ( high score, match … ) Think the existing b2s is not correctly made.
In the preview there are 2 testprimitives placed under the playfield ( wall and wheel , with no image yet )

Hoping to get to that next week in the Seawitch videos. They aren’t tutorials really but hopefully it’ll be a good start to a conversation about it. If you’ve gotten this far you’ll be able to render textures and export the meshes.

May 30, 2020 at 2:43 pm #183641Thanx azapatero for the backglass . With PS a 2 and 4 player backglass can be recreated ( Over here in Belgium i played the 4 player version of speakeasy in the early 80’s )
About the wheelimage :We’ll wait how the blender stuff will look in vp
Will contact you in time to adjust the physics . Always a benefit ,comparing with the real table
