Hi i bought a Pyle PLG64 6.5″ speaker to use as my sub, im in the process of designing and build its box
https://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/PLG64/65-300-Watt-Mid-Bass-Woofer
for my box design im leaning toward facing it down in a ported box locked down
id just like to hear somebody’s thoughts on going about it.
I’m still working out dimensions and what not
do you think it will sound OK ?
if you feel there’s a better way to go about this such as design, id love to hear your thoughts.

May 13, 2019 at 10:42 am #128138Not sure why you wouldn’t just use the cabinet itself as your speaker box. Does that sub give you a specific dimension to follow?

May 13, 2019 at 10:45 am #128139I use the flipper fidelity set up and the sub sounds great just attached to the cab floor.

May 13, 2019 at 10:57 am #128141no the speaker dosnt really state size enclosures
but i am interested in this flipper fidelity set up that you speak of.
when you say just mount it to the bottom of the cab floor.
do you mean face flush with the floor ? or do you mean cut a hole for the speaker through the bottom of the cab and mount it that way?
any chance that you can show me a picture to show me more clearly on this
thanks

May 13, 2019 at 11:13 am #128147OK i think i got what you mean, i believe in my situation I’m going to be forced to build an enclosure
my cab is a bit unorthodox, i built it from scratch and its an upright vertical machine and right now the whole back of my cab is open i haven’t built a door for it yet, still lots to do
