I feel like this intro thread is a formality, but I will play along.

I’m Jason from Minneapolis and my aim is to simply play some VP on my Windows-8 desktop.

I’m looking for a dummy-proof tutorial for noobs but not finding one.

I succeeded in downloading the VPX all-in-one installer, but I’m still clueless about the various other elements that must be in place before I can actually flip a visual pinball.  I’ve browsed the VPX table downloads, but when I read their descriptions, I see references to all manner of esoteric things I know nothing about.  Yeah, I need a FAQ!

Hello I am also Jason and from Minnesota. No joke! Setup team viewer I can help ya set up a couple tables won’t take but a few minutes and you will then know how to do it

Thanks for your responses.

TeamViewer will take some looking into.  I would love to have some help though so I will figure it out.

As to OutThere’s link to VPForums, each time I try to download their installer I’m rebuffed with “You don’t have access to the download features of this site.”

I have installed this but when I try to run it I get this:

“The program can’t start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”

Shall I just do as it says?

Hi again.

The noob’ tutorial on VPForums looks fab’, but each time I try to download something, I get this:

“Sorry, but you do not have access to any of the functions in our Download Manager.”

I have the installer from VPinball installed but the next steps are blocked to me if they require downloads from VPForums.
