Bumper Pool by Gottlieb – 1969
Another pool themed table. This is the Italian add-a-ball version of Mini pool. Notice the lack of the word “flipper” on the apron and flippers themselves. All because the laws didn’t allow that to be on a pinball machine. Those laws also made Gottlieb change the way they showed WOWs on the backglass – notice the 5 balls lined up in the pool table ball return area? Yup, those are the “hidden” WOW lights. All of this to get around the laws so folks could play pinball.
This is one with a turret shooter for the WOWs – another method for dealing with Italian laws regarding pinball. This addressed laws against extra balls – by having the table shoot it out, it did not violate the laws since the player wasn’t launching it.
ZIP included Backglass and wheel.
