Button lighting / DOFConfig / Wiring

Question.

I’ve got my Teensy running both play field sides and a back matrix using 3 different ports/wire strands.  I’d like to add lighting for the start, launch, etc buttons.  I’ve noticed in DOFConfig that the buttons seem to need to be set as Mono No Feedback.  I’m a little unclear, does this mean that each button needs to be controlled with it’s own port and wire strand?  If so, that sort of sounds like I could be limited to one port left on the first teensy cat5 cable and the 3 ports of a second cat5 cable, for a total of 4 buttons.

or…I have this completely wrong.  If anyone could also post a cabinet xml file showing how they configured that side of it I’d greatly appreciate.
