I have an interesting situation that just started happening a couple of days ago on a vpin I built for friend (I’m blaming a Windows 10 update for it). If he selects any games with a pup-pack from the Pinup Popper front end, the coin and start buttons on the cab no longer work. If he selects any non-pup-pack games from the front end, the buttons work as expected. What is even more bizarre is that if he starts a table with a pup-pack directly in VPX, the buttons also work as expected. The only thing I don’t remember asking him to try is to use his keyboard to coin-up or start a game once it is selected from the front end.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I’ve searched as many forums as I can and haven’t found anything similar. Perhaps I’m just searching on the wrong key words.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dino Z.

February 15, 2021 at 7:30 am #224322It’s a focus issue (read: which program window is at the front). Part of PinUp Player is focused instead of Visual Pinball.

February 17, 2021 at 9:09 pm #224771Yup, definitely was a focus issue. I did a quick search and found another thread with a similar focus issue that mentioned turning on “force exclusive fullscreen mode”. I had this previously checked off because we were having issues with the playfield and backglass screens staying where they belonged and turning this off seemed to fix it. We discovered that the screen issue was due to the playfield monitor not being recognized by Windows fast enough on power-up so now we are turning it on before starting the PC. I went back in tonight and turned on “force exclusive fullscreen mode” and it seemed to fix the focus issue with games with pup-packs.
We will test some more. Hopefully this is all it was. Thanks for sending me in the right direction.
