I am probably last in line with this idéa but i have not seen it so i publish it just in case.
For my DOF EM tables, i came up with this solution for all the bell sounds.

      for 12 dollars you get.
1 Mini solenoid and 1 Reception Bell.

I just did a mount for this from a (Curtain Mount + a regular mount, and another small mount to keep it steady, check picture below), and it works perfectly! I will do 4 more of this, when i get more reception bells. ;)  I first tried to mount the solenoid directly in a bell first, but the reception bell with the “push” function made it sound much better and louder.

I am working on the same kind of project except I got mine from an old style phone and it has two different tones of bells it it.

Really nice! Telephone bells + coils, even better ;)

I know i could done this better here, but my point was actually how cheap it was.

Trust me mine is still in the beginning phase.  The solenoids I have don’t work,  but the chimes sound nice.  I would be interested to hear your sound because it may work as the third chime sound for me
