This is an update to “The Clash,” released in 2018, a mod to JPSalas’ Rock Encore table. This is a “heavy” mod with significant changes to game flow and play. MODS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
I wanted a game with longer game play and more 3D models to make it more visually appealing (especially for the VR crowd). I’ve added three pop bumpers, a kicker, and raised the center loop to a plexi and wire ramp. I’ve also created a new backglass. See installation and changlog notes for details on changes. I hope you enjoy.
There are a lot of people who helped me with various parts of this. All help was greatly appreciated, big and small.

After thinking about it, I’ve decided to release without providing the music tracks. Instructions are below on how to add yourself. If you added The Clash music to the previous version, this will use the same files. Securing and formatting songs yourself adds complexity I know. But it’s the right thing to do. And The Clash is definitely worth it.

(Please note: Song lengths (in milliseconds) in the script may not be accurate for your song additions. (I often edited out song beginnings if there was some chatter or slow intro). [ Song info is found on lines 430-478. Song lengths must be entered in two places, one is stop and one is start song] See below for how to calculate song lengths in milliseconds.
NOTE: Distribution of this table or its related files on a computer, virtual pinball machine or storage device, which is SOLD as part of a commercial product, or sharing this file on a public website, or via a file transfer process, is not allowed.
Add music: Buy The Clash songs you want and convert to .mp3 and rename them similar to the recommendations, then place in your Music folder. Determine the length in milliseconds of each song using software like Audacity; this allows for looping the song if you good enough to play through an entire song.
Example:
Case 5:PlayMusic”CLSH6.mp3″:Gate2.timerinterval=224300:Gate2.timerenabled=1
224300 milliseconds = 3 minutes 44 seconds 300 milliseconds.<<song length
3 mins x 60 secs x 1000 = 180000, plus 44 secs. x 1000 = 224000, plus 300 milliseconds = 224300

I have all the correct sounds as listed in the instructions(had from the original table but im getting an mp3 error for CLSH23 is this another song or do I need to add songs all the way up from 19-23?

I was not that familiar with their music but the table looked fantastic and I’m glad I downloaded it…its pure joy can’t stop playing….great job!!

I zipped up the wrong version. 1.0 will be the script as originally intended with 5 additional songs to coordinate better with the new art. 1.0B is uploading now and will have lines for the original 18 songs. Thanks for pointing this out.

Here’s a guide to some of the changes and why they were added:
1. Joe Strummer went to a reggae concert at the Hammersmith Palais and saw
the acts listed on the marquee (they are mentioned in the song “White Man (in
Hammersmith Palais)” It’s often cited as the band’s greatest song, even
though when it was released, fans of the hard charging punk style didn’t like
the softer reggae sound. It started the band on a far more complex, nuanced, and varied
songwriting style. The club facade changed many times, and few pictures exist from the 1970s. I believe this is how it looked when Strummer went.2. The Black Swan was the club where the band first played.
3. The rehearsal sign was a sticker included in the band’s comprehensive, and
final collection of songs called “Sound System.” I just liked it on the back wall.4. The pink “amp” was used by the band on stage and is seen in early photos
of the band,5. The broken bass in the upper left playfield is the bass Paul Simonon
smashed (see cover of London Calling) at the New York Palladium (see
“bootleg” cassette tape at lower right lanes). He was frustrated with the
concert and regretted his action because he said it was the best bass he’s
had.6. The Sputnik model in the center of the plastic ramp, tagged with The Clash
logo references the “pirate satellite” in the song “This is Radio Clash” … You will hear
some international shortwave radio propaganda from the 1980s, when you hit the
wire ramp.7. The right guitar is Mick Jones’ Gibson Les Paul Jr.; the right is
Strummer’s Fender Telecaster.8. Rhodes Pinball Co., Bernie Rhodes introduced Strummer to Jones and
Simonon, and thus formed The Clash. He was a producer, and was key to the
band’s direction.9. Dread at the Controls sticker on apron. Mikey Dread was a Jamaican singer
and producer who was invited on The Clash tour in 1980. Strummer was often
photographed with this logo on a T-shirt.10. Various buttons. All original button art from 70s and 80s.

@bord I made a couple of tweaks to the PF since beta, mainly the sputnik model add. 1.0B is the original song set, the “non version” zip is the newer extended song list.

I released this without the mp3s for a variety of reasons. I understand it may not be worth the effort to get the songs yourself, but you love The Clash, I think you’ll find it is. I recommend just getting “Sound System” and have every song they ever recorded in one box set. :)

Do the mp3 files go in the Tables\Music folder ?
I did that with correct names and I get an error when opening the table that the song (CLSHA00.mp3) can not be loaded.
Does it go in a subfolder (Named “Clash”?) perhaps?EDIT: SOLVED: If one uses the original music files from the 2018 table, rename the opening song CLSH00A.mp3 into CLSHA00.mp3 as per what is in the script.
