you’re asking in the wrong forum

playsound/playmusic are native VPX table script functions by the vpx dev team.

playvideo xxx would need to be done by vpx dev team….

PinUP player is a lot more than just playing an mp4 on BG.

vp team dev, returned the ball to pup.
like what your reader already existed.
except that i only want to read mp4 on bg and nothing else.

theres a file with pup install:  PinUpPlayerReference.txt

that should help you see how to play stuff at a minimum using pinup player.

if you want to do advanced pup stuff you can look at tables like stranger things and MOTU, JAWS…etc.

your application looks fairly complete,
but far too complicated in my opinion for a simple display of mp4 or mkv on a BG.
I relaunched the vpx team, hoping for a good surprise in 2020 and vpx11
otherwise thank you for your efforts.

obviously you are a developer
you could do that, and vpx is open source.
you could join the dev team ….?
