Controller broke my installation?

Hey.
I ran into a really weird behavior.
I enabled joystick (xb-360) in Popper setup because of mame. Configured the buttons as well.
However it seems to have broken things. Exiting (escape key) <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>any</span> game will result in desktop without taskbar.
Pressing the exit key won’t bring Popper back, neither does alt-tabbing. Only a reboot seems to work.
Doesn’t matter if I run vpx, vp9, fx3, mame or Pro Pinball for that matter. Everything results in a  CTD.
First thing I did was disabling joystick and restoring controller keys, but to no avail.

Weird huh?

For some reason I switched two keys around and assigned ESC to home menu…
I’m such a tool sometimes.
