https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/dmd-overlay/
Puts the DMD behind a glass-grill combination. It’s fully customizable. You can use my templates or make your own “real” looking pinball-grills.
It’s only usefull for 2 screen-setups without cabinet. I use only VPX-tables with vpinmame, nothing else tested.
NEW in v.1.2: added Pinball FX3 support.
NEW: Support for freezys DmdDevice.dll (it’s beta, please test it)

October 18, 2019 at 6:29 pm #148377Very slick. I have a 4 screen, so not needed, but totally cool for two screen designs.

December 29, 2019 at 10:48 pm #156239Perhaps i’m doing something wrong, but this does not work for me. I downloaded 1.41 and extracted it to a folder on the desktop. When i ran the executable i got an error about a missing dmdoverlay.ini. It would start and i’d run the table and hit reload but was given no roms to choose from.
I decided to create the ini in the folder with the 2 files i downloaded and try again. Started the program then started the table and hit reload. The roms showed and i was able to select the rom i was using, however nothing was showing up and during both attempts the program was using around 12 percent cpu which seems rather high for this sort of application.
Any tips would be appreciated. If not, i can do without.

December 31, 2019 at 5:47 am #156343Thanks @softfish,
i fixed the error with the missing ini-file.
Please load the latest release.
The volume-controll consumpts some cpu-power.
If you dont’t want this, please set both audio-devices to “none”.
After this, restart DMDOverlay and the cpu-consumption will satisfy you.Happy new year!

December 31, 2019 at 11:58 am #156368The update corrected the problem. No errors now. Disabling the audio devices also corrected the high cpu usage issue. Out of curiosity what does the audio setting change? I could not find what that feature was enabling or disabling.
One thing i’d like to mention is for me the program shows up twice when alt-tabbing once a table is running. It’s minor, but thought it might be something you would want to change. Or maybe it is only happening on my end.
This is a very nice program once running correctly. Thank you for work and for sharing it.

I don’t think so. Isn’t the backglass allready included in the vr-cabinet?
