@outhere as discussed in PM – HUGE thanks for troubleshooting this…. My matrix is currently down awaiting a new teensy, this will be the first thing i look into correcting once it’s up and running and your investigation is much appreciated hereÂ

I can confirm as per screenshots the first post of this thread the “ASS200” is part of the default template (you can search, see the default effect for the beacon MX effect as well as maybe a couple of others). Still don’t have a matrix working to be able to test (soon i hope) but i feel from what was said before by Outhere maybe this should be “AS200”.
I would be happy to test this once my matrix is running.
I am perplexed however (still) as to why it hasn’t errored for me or some others that have applied the lightshow, where others such as outhere experienced a crash or error. Likely a difference in terms of software or configuration but what this might be I don’t have the experience yet to say… I could make a bunch of guesses and check each one in turn but prehaps someone has a way of narrowing down the scope of the problem.
I am going to try making a simple profile using a fresh copy of the template, both with AS200 and ASS200 and then just set it so that matrix effect is the only thing on the profile. When triggered i would be interested in the difference in behaviour…Â
Let me know if you have any other thoughts or suggestions on this!

I’ve been looking through Time Fantasy’s mx config that gets generated.
There are a bunch of double spaces where there should only be one space.
Also, I’ve seen lines like this:
W16Â Blue LAT85 AH15 AL0 AW100 ASDR ASS200 BLINK 490 BPW15 F50 L-19
which are a result of an extra space that will generate an L in its place, such as LAT85. Should be:
W16Â Blue AT85 AH15 AL0 AW100 ASDR ASS200 BLINK 490 BPW15 F50 L-19
So my guess is that you have a bunch of extra spaces where they shouldn’t be in your sheet, or if you used another program it created some unwanted spaces or characters.
@trojochel You still have the extra spaces in TLK config. Did you correct all the errors I pointed and resubmit? Your submission seems to not have corrections I mentioned to you.

One is from DOF R2, the other is DOF R3. I think the ASS from R3 is correct…but my guess is that they both work. I don’t think this is the issue….as there are numerous things I’ve noticed….so he will need to correct the extra spaces for that and be sure there isn’t something else causing the issue.
AS an example…

“Errors” means that DOF will ignore them and not use that command. So a config will still operate…but not use everything.
The big thing you gotta watch are extra spaces. They are easy to miss….and they will still be extra spaces in DOF Config Tool…. buty they generate as an L sometimes.
Also… “special” hidden characters is a big issue. When copying and pasting from a web site or program…sometime formatting characters get thrown in…but you can’t see it in the Sheet or DOf Config Tool. You can only see it in notepad when you edit your *30.ini.
So if in doubt…check you file with notepad to try to see what shows up.

the version of DOF might well be different… It has been quite a time since i tested this (aka where my matrix was working) so am going to need to start up again on the latest version once that’s fixed. I’ll check everything / remake it from scratch if needs be.
My process is more or less as per the tutorial with no extra software. Using both excel and openoffice depending on location but didn’t see any compatibility problems (did spot check the outputs for obvious errors likes spaces)… i used notepad++ in addition to placehold the lines going into the DOF .. had another quick look at some now, set styles and I didn’t see extra spaces anywhere on the version I attached to the video so I suspect this will be a hangover from a previous issue on the original sheet.
I wouldn’t have picked up on L-19 in the code (i see that now). I suppose it could also be a legit – has crept in as there are multiple layers in play.
Also did hours of playtesting and over many itterations before I committed so how I didn’t see errors is still a frustrating mystery! Maybe the version difference does account for that and I will see some when i can try again.
@TerryRed didn’t mean you to waste any time on looking into this anyway! Pretty sure the issue is somewhere on my original sheet, especially given what you have said… since the public version is reverted I’m more concerned with getting the cab back together in the next week or two. I’m at work…but the L-19 might be fine. It was used for other configs as well I think…not just any of mine. If not sure… just search your *30.ini to see where else its used.

I was trying to take a look at this but can’t see the log file. c:\directoutput\directoutput.log is only being written to by DOFLINX not by normal DOF events. TIA.

Nothing obviously wrong to me at a first glance… guess i should enter an absolute path under the <logfilepattern> ???
Or im simply not replicating the error in timefantasy since the logfile in the config folder that I have just now noticed wasn’t written to since last month…

Thanks, that works. In the end i give it a completely different filename to be sure that it gets created, i discovered it won’t however create a new folder which didn’t existÂ
