I did a brain transplant for my machine and set up a new computer in the process. DOF works great for VPX and VP9 but will not run with PinballX despite reinstalling PinballX and following all of the steps in the online guide (http://pinball.weilenmann.net/docu/DirectOutputWIP/pbx.html) including registering the Com object and the DOF plugin manager confirms that DOF is found.
The log for DOf shows the following:
Init failed: Could not create a instance of the DirectOutput framework. Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {A23BFDBC-9A8A-46C0-8672-60F23D54FFB6} failed due to the following error: 80040154.
DOF worked great in PinballX in the old machine and I’ve transferred over all of the old files to the new one, any ideas from the Windows gurus out there?

July 8, 2018 at 10:48 am #91075I downloaded the most resent version so if you can PM me an old version that would be great! I noticed that the new version will not let me use “2” as my exit even though the config has “2” set up as this. In fact the “2” will start games instead of its assigned “end” function! Had to reconfigure to “E” as exit.

July 9, 2018 at 3:01 pm #91191The reason isn’t that you just pressed next without reading the dialog box where 64bit version of PinballX is the default install ? For most users that is a real problem and a bad choice done my Tom IMO.

July 9, 2018 at 3:06 pm #91195I can’t say if this is the case or not, my machine is 64 bit. Does the DOF PinballX Plugin.dll not like the 64 bit version of PinballX?

July 9, 2018 at 3:09 pm #91197In short – yes. You have to remember pbx in some cases starts other software. And mixing 64bit and 32bit is not a good idea. I hope and believe that some day we’re starting to actually use setup64.exe in vpinmame, 64bit of freezy etc. But for now – it is not ready and that is why I say that Tom makes a mistake enabling it as default. Windows users are very used to pressing next expecting that to be the best choice.
