Pinscape w/ Main/Power Boards
600 Watt EVGA GOLD PSU
24V 8a PSU
10 24x Contactors
24v Knocker
12v Shaker Motor
5RGBS
2 Strobes
Now when I get a game going and all the bits are working I get whole system crashes. It killed my first PSU. Thanks for Corsair Warranty. If I work the pinscape controller through the config tool I can ramp the hell out of the shaker on/off repeat. Nothing. I can fire the knocker 1000x (Yes I tried). Nothing. But when I get a game going and all the parts working and going off together it crashes. It does it either when the knocker fires or the shaker goes off. I have narrowed it down to these 2 devices. Both have new diodes attached. If the diodes were bad I am sure the pinscape board would be fried already. Are my PSUs under powered and its causing a surge? Need help here guys before I go and rewire everything for the same result.

March 4, 2019 at 6:52 am #116416Overloading your PSU?
I’m running x9 SW3 solenoids on a 1200W Thermaltake GOLD PSU, plus a few peripheral items.
Note that these devices place a large load on the power supply – about 6A or 72W ea. So 9-10 max are ok with 720W power supply.
Check the specs on all your PSUs, but at a guess, your DOF devices are drawing more amps, overloading and tripping a PSU. Coils can draw huge amperage on ignition. Â Also check that you have the polarity correct on diodes / solenoids. Band on diode should connect to positive/live. Make sure diodes are as close to the terminals as possible. Also check your diode rating.
