      Hi all,

Wondering if there are more folks who see similar issues with Freezy DMD 1.8.

I have a Pin2DMD, working flawlessly with Freezy DMD 1.7.1. When I tried to upgrade to 1.8 using the installer, I just get a virtualDMD on my playfield, but no activity on my Pin2DMD (FW 3.10)

      Am I missing something?

      Thanks!

          Thanks for your response…

yes I did and it seems the same…

Pin2DMD is set to true still

Plus, I understand from reading the notes, the installer should not touch the ini file…

          puzzled..

          Will take some snapshot tomorrow..

Did you try going back to the old stuff?
Did you make sure the files are unblocked?
Did it install in the right location?

            This is what I did
            I downloaded the Zip file – dmdext-1.8.0-r122-x86-Release.zip
            https://ci.appveyor.com/project/freezy/dmd-extensions/builds/32615675/job/rhlv555mkn3595w5/artifacts
Freezy’s Latest Now supports color layer mode — Like the color DMD for White Water
            1.8 r122 — The only file I used so-far – DmdDevice.dll
            Seem to work fine
            Tested on a Pin2DMD and a LCD

If your coming from Freezy 1.71 You will need yo add this to your DmdDevice.ini file
            [alphanumeric]
            enabled = false

Seems the DMDext is different from the 1.7.1 version as well by the way. For one it is a different size, plus it has its Windows icon now (not that that matters)

              No need to replace that?

                Hi…

so… tried just replacing the dll, which seems to work for most games. However, Ghostbusters LE’s DMD occasionally flickers some dots, but is mostly black, and it seems CCC acted funny, but could be wrong…. the backglass would no longer close… may have been some other problem though.

anyway, reverted back to the 1.7.1 dll to get everything working again.

If you have other problems report them in the same place
That is already being looked into  — https://github.com/freezy/dmd-extensions/issues/237

hello like your post . outhere and M4rsl.

                      i am using freezy 1.8.0 x86 version

and also flashing dmd with Ghostbusters vpx… rest tables are perfect.

is there a solution for this toi fix for freezy 1.8.0 version.

Or is the only way by going back to freezy 1.7,1 version.

hope some one can help me..thx :bye:

                        Hello Ronald71

it seems there is no fix for the flickering DMD on the GB table. There was a suggestion to leave a copy of the 1.7.1 DLL and INI files in the SPA folder and update the DMDext files elsewhere…. I have tried that, but it did not work….

Not sure if have done this incorrectly though…

Same here, Ghostbusters LE 1.2 (spagb_100) flickering.  Temporarily using vpinmame internal DMD window and disabled external. :(

You have to use the DmdDevice.dll from Freezy 1.71 in the VPinSPA Folder

I don’t have a VPinSPA folder but I guess I could create one.

Also, I’ve heard that if you do this then you lose the ability to save the DMD position on a per table basis.

UPDATE:   I figured it out.  For anyone else with the same issue as me:

My problem was that VPinSPA was installed in VPinMame folder ages ago.

I reinstalled it in VPinMame\VPinSPA\ folder.

Downgraded the dmddevice.ini file in that VPinSPA folder now all is well.  No more flashing.

Haven’t checked in a while, however 1.7.1 works perfectly. Roll back for now and enjoy the cab. Happy days.
