Hey guys… I did a motherboard/cpu upgrade last night and, with it, a fresh Windows install.  I kept everything in my VP folder, but VP and PBX don’t work properly now, probably because all the registry hooks are gone.

I’m wondering if I could just install VPX to another “dummy” folder, and then delete that folder after the install, and use my original VPX files.  Has anyone done it this way?  Let me know if you think that is the best method.  Obviously, my goal is just to keep my old VPX setup, which has a lot of time in it.

You should be able to install everything then just move files over maybe import registry if you need the dmd positions but that’s about all I could think you would need from old registry all in one will do the rest I would think

I was thinking of running the all-in-one to a new folder, then just deleting that folder and keeping my old stuff (which is in a different folder).

            Sure that would work

Ok, I’m back up and running again.  It just took some minor folder juggling and was a lot easier than I thought.  Lost a few registry settings, like DMD positions, but easy stuff to fix.     :yahoo:

Its a good idea to take a few registry exports as backups from time to time. If you do, you should be able to get everything back as it was.

Thalamus, I was just thinking last night, as I put those settings back into place that, if I had to do this again, I would back up that registry key.
