If it was a stock wp I wouldn’t be scared of a upgrade. But, well – yours isn’t – let’s put it that way I know you’ve tested it out and if that works, well, go for it. As long as the main forum is working, then it can always be fixed afterwards. Just make sure you have a working backup first.
