An animated PUP backglass for P-ROC Gremlins.
Can you find Gizmo?
** PLEASE DON’T REQUEST THE TABLE, Thank you.
This is for Horsepin’s infamous P-ROC table.

March 18, 2020 at 4:29 am #167782March 18, 2020 at 10:48 am #167792Can this be added as a pup pack for the future pinball table. I have yet to learn how to use pup packs outside of visual pinball. They seem to not appear on the pup pack rom generated listing. Having a hard time with Aliens FX3.

While this indeed is made as a PuP-Pack…. it doesn’t “need” to be a pup-pack, as its really mostly a single video that loops.
As a pup-pack, this for sure can be used with the table… but your excellent video could be used on it’s own with any front-end (PBX, PBY, Popper) without the need of a PuP-Pack…. and for both the “unreleased” P-ROC table and the FP table.
Unless the P-ROC DMD won’t stay on top of the video…then in that case a pup-pack is probably needed to force the video behind.
Please don’t take this as a criticism though…Â it looks really nice!

March 19, 2020 at 12:49 pm #167934Great Backglass, the video looks good. But unfortunately the table in nowhere available. Is there any change that the table will also be released on some day here?
PS: and of corse, I see your comment ** PLEASE DON’T REQUEST THE TABLE, Thank you.
,but I don’t understand to share a backglass without table

Correct. It can easily be used for any table and front end without PUP.
It’s bare bones because I originally created a series of PUP triggers & video events. I later discovered (I leap first, look later) that VPX PUP triggers don’t work with P-ROC, so I stripped it back and posted as is. PUP easily allows audio to play once while the backglass loops and forces the vid behind the DMD (audio looping over gameplay is a bit annoying). I had one occurrence where the DMD disappeared behind the vid, so I left it as a PUP.
Given where I ended up, a stand-alone video would probably suffice.
Thanks for the nice comment!

This is my setup with a 4k playfield and 1080p backglass. If you have different resolutions, you’ll need to adjust accordingly.
Keep the dmd_dots at orginal size, then set desktop_dmd_scale to 3.
Hope this helps. Zim.dmd_dots_w: 271

Thanks man. I think my issue is that my backglass TV is 720p and might be why i’m having these scaling issues. I’ll have to keep playing around with the settings or wait for someone else who has 720p to share their settings. Thanks again for your help.

April 24, 2020 at 7:33 pm #175185So where do you put the gremlins folder? Not PupVideos as you would for a normal pup pack?
