Hey all. I’ve been searching for this table over the web, and I found a thread on here that talked about it, but for some reason the thread was shut down. Does anyone know where I can download this board (preferably VPX).

August 7, 2019 at 10:19 pm #140994works! Also while we’re here, I am having problems with Attack From Mars.
Certain sounds (i.e the plunge, the paddles) are too loud, and the actual game sounds are too soft. I cant figure out how to balance the two out. When I try to press “8” and “9” to change the volume of the machine, I get a “you need to open coin slot” message. How can I make the game sounds louder?

August 7, 2019 at 10:23 pm #140995Open the coin door by pressing the End button on keyboard, then you will be able to adjust the sounds with 8 and 9 keys.

August 7, 2019 at 11:28 pm #141002very cool and congrats!
Last noob question!!! (hopefully). I got the sounds fixed! Only thing is that the flippers are too loud? How do I lower this? I already tried going to “Preferences” and then to “Audio Options” and tried lowering the ‘Sound Effects’ and ‘Music,’ but it didn’t change anything. Any ideas?

August 7, 2019 at 11:47 pm #141003You can click the Table tab when table is loaded into editor, then click Sound Manager, and find the flipper sound, then highlight it and click Export.
Then you can use a sound editor,(I use Audacity.), and lower the volume.
Then Click Import in the Sound Manager after you have editted the volume, and import the new sound back into the Sound Manager.
Voila, lower sounds for flippers.
Be sure to save table after making your changes.

August 8, 2019 at 12:10 am #141005Not only save. After you change sound in sound manager. Save and exit table completely. Actually. If the sound is too loud, you can press the position button and use the vol slider to adjust it down with. If you want it higher, well, if often ends up with needing to do it outside of VP like Xenonph mentions. Also, there is a preference under sound for how high the music and samples should be. AND, that is not all. You will find that it is hard to adjust the sound to be uniform from machine to machine. Then you turn your head towards mjr awesome pinvol tool.

You also find PinballY at http://mjrnet.org – one out of two awesome frontends. Too early to think about frontend right now though.

August 8, 2019 at 12:28 am #141006Wow. 12 is moving but still logs in to offer help. And Thalamus is omnipresent! I cannot offer much technical assistance chillin but I will say this- after over a year of learning about and loading 200 tables, it’s not Family Guy or Addam’s Family I spend time with. Just yesterday I stumbled on xenonph’s 6 Million $ Man sound mod table. That is the bizarre unexpected find that can happen almost every day here.

August 8, 2019 at 12:51 am #141007I am actually embarrassed with some of my early sound mods.
I will be redoing them all in the near future.
There are things that I know now, that I didn’t know back then.
I started working on these mods, with no prior experience with anything. Never editted a pic, never editted sounds, never added scripts before in my life.
I am also mentally disabled, so if I can do this, anyone can!!
This community taught me everything I needed to know!!
I am slowly learning, and I think I am getting better each time I mess with this pinball stuff, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
On a side note….Kitchen is moved!! Now onto next rooms!!

And if you have contactors for your flipper feedback, you can modify the script to make no sound at all. Thats what i have done to several tables.

August 8, 2019 at 6:23 am #141017Is that needed ?? Isn’t it enough to do under preferences -> keys and nudge or what it is called. You have there the option to pick other than “both”, which is default ?
I must admit I have never tried, I switch so often between dof on and off and I don’t really care if I have both sounds.

August 8, 2019 at 9:39 am #141024Is that needed?  In my case it was. In the settings i have it selected for just dof but it doesn’t change, i still get sound fx of the flippers. So instead of figuring out why it wasn’t working i just commented out the code.
